To the person who requested "Crying In The Rain" by FT Island, I really appreciate that. "Crying In The Rain" is not only one of FT Island's best all time songs, it is their best Rock ballad ever. HOWEVER, I please ask that you hold off from requesting more FT Island stuff, at lease of their Japanese releases, for now. The reason is because the video you requested does not have English subtitles and worst of all the supposed "English translations" of FT Island's Japanese songs that are out there are HORRIBLE (including the ones out there for "Crying In The Rain"). FT Island is my favorite Rock band (not just South Korean bands) and their best work is from their Japanese albums but sadly people who either don't know English or just threw the Japanese lyrics in a machine translation have filled youtube and the internet with garbage English translations that does no justice to their Japanese songs. I have been working on preparing new and improved English translations for a lot of FT Island's songs especially their Japanese songs and will post them on a separate channel. That way there could finally be good English translations to allow people to discover them properly and fully appreciate their best work. But please hold off from requesting more because I am afraid that a request will be given to them to react to one of FT Island's Japanese songs and it ends up being one of these bad translations out there on youtube ruining the experience of the song.
It is great to see the crew at Aquaired Taste can still acknowledge that FT Island are great without a translation though. When I get to posting the videos, I hope that they would be willing to watch this same performance again but with better video, audio and an English translation that is accurate. Saying that "Crying In The Rain" is about "you left and I'm still here" is like saying that Michael Jackson's Billie Jean is about "I met a girl in the club once". It's much more than that.
One last thing, they did do a Korean version of this song but the Korean lyrics are COMPLETELY different from the Japanese lyrics. In my opinion, the Korean lyrics are nowhere near as good as the original Japanese lyrics of the song and don't do "Crying In The Rain" justice like the Japanese lyrics do.

Hi! Person who requested this song here, FT Island are also my favorite band and while yes, the state of japanese translations of their songs are not good on youtube, I felt like this performance transcends lyrics and is a good representation of how you can convey emotion without knowing what the song is about and I intentionally didn't request the one with the bad translation. That and it's one of my fave of their ballads, also yeah when I said it's about you left and I'm still here I did say it was a gist, not a full explanation of course the song is deeper but I couldn't write a whole essay in the twitch comments so I settled with something short and understandable!

Crying in the rain is a song about someone recalling their break up. How he regrets saying goodbye. He knows the relationship is doomed but still he remembers that day with pain and wish things were different. I like this verse
It will eventually rain

That's not what he specifically regrets. What you posted is not a good translation. In fact, it's one of those terrible so called "translations" out there online that I talked about in my post here. Please don't spread those terrible translations around. FTIsland's Japanese songs, which is the majority of their best songs, deserve far better. 🙂And I am going to remedy that.
