That is the best idea yet! Saved me on buying a hundred dollar tool. Thank you! 😅

Hell yeah. That’s a good way to do it . Maybe $10 in parts at a hardware store vs $200 carrier tool. I’ll try it out tomorrow

Absolutely ingenious. I spent a fortune on a tool for this. Made one the same and just works perfect. Super. Thank You for a great simple idea

I saw a video where the guy used air pressure. I was skeptical until I tried it. Blew me away. I had tried heat, a puller on steroids, and it wouldn’t budge. I applied a little air to it through the lube fill hole (I made a special fitting), and it not only came loose, it flew out 3 feet. I am now a believer.

This method is so cheap it doesn't even require shoes. Beat that!

Do you have a video on checking the internal parts or a video on how to re-install the bearing carrier? Did you hammer it in with a PVC pipe?? THIS DIY IS AMAZING!!!!. Liked and Subbed instantly!!!

Salt water or fresh water motor? Mines is saltwater motor I used chains and heat and all kinds of stuff can’t get it out. Does the drive shaft need to be pulled first?

Awesome idea but unfortunately my 12" half inch hooks began to straighten out. My carrier was so stuck!

do you just push it back inside to reinstall? or is there something special you have to do?

Great job! I'm looking for a homemade solution to pull the upper seal carriers that are just underneath the water pump do you have something for that thanks

Just use a "T handle" style seal puller, but be careful not to score the housing wall that the seals abut. There are 2 (identical) seals underneath the water pump wear plate. Note their orientation for re-installation.
