What's the fastest speed you've ever reached on your road bike? Let us know in the comments below!
Mine is 67 kph
8mph. That I know of. Clocked by a street sign. I’m fine with 🦥🐢 speeds.
97kph down the hill. 🚴🏻⛰
43mph, however felt about 80mph lol
110
New title for video: Manon having Hank for lunch during sprints.
I'd like to see some track technique tips from Manon such as starts, 200's, team pursuit exchanges. You have a world class trackie, so use her.
Totally agree!!! More track stuff!
@@_kngts2293 with clock, she cant break 14 sec i bet
Hank-“well you won more races than me”
Manon-“ yip”
nope
real life = 56 kmh going downhill solo
zwift - 97 coming down radio tower on Epic KOM because you can't die
You only die a little inside
@@JoseLCiclista haha, yes, each time you climb on that thing in your garage, knowing others are out there in the real world, with reasonable weather, you die bit inside. So has nothing to do with downhill speed.
Buddy, live a little. You can sprint to that speed. Surely there's a downhill safe for >60.
Yeah, I wish I could go downhill max potential irl, but my skills in turning as well as stopping and maintaining even just 35mph(56kmh) is quite frightening
"Or as Aero as Connor", that's a hit. That's a hit.
I feel you ... Friends say that drafting behind me is like riding behind a bus.
Shots fired
How to reach you top speed:
Go out with a tailwind and come back in a car
I absolutely love the way Manon presents videos. Congrats, you made my day ! (Hank you're cool too)
i'm 62 i had a minor heart attack in November 2019 and pneumonia in February 2020 so I am trying to improve my speed.
Damn, Mannon, flashing that wedding rock! ...Breaking hearts all over the biking world there.
: )
Land Speed Record attempt by Manon?! we'll hold you on that.. can't wait :) Love from the Philippines
Oh! I love the Full black Pinarello Dogma F12!
Tbh I prefer endurance, so for me it's more about efficiency, fuel economy etc than speed. If I'm doing short training rides though, I concentrate on cadence. There are only a handful of roads where I coild have some fun and go for it sprinting wise sadly.
What ever you enjoy, do that :)
Find an extremely steep downhill section of road that Google Maps calls MOSTLY FLAT and then 🚀 downhill and point out that it was mostly flat.
01:18 Aaaw give her the recumbent 😄
"Pick and choose" in my head "Pikachu" XD
Love to see some more track related cycling stuff!
I totally agree with Hank & Manon on the 2nd point about riding on nice & smooth road. I have a 40-34T chainring, but i once hit 47km/h on a nice flat road 👍🏼. On my normal route, average speed is around 27 kmh 😅
4:01 Surely someone else cracked up at Hank here........ hope it’s not just me 🙈😂
Scrolled to check I wasn't the only one 😂
And very TASTEFULLY commented upon!! Well done sir. I actually decided to scroll through the comments to see who'd comment on this first, expecting something extremely sordid. Pleasantly surprised by the [PG] nature of your comment :)
Another great video, Thanks guys. Cheers! Happy Easter everybody👋👍
fastest speed on the flat is 63 kph after a short leadout from a friend with a little tailwind. my top tip is to use your arms as well, if you pull up with your arm on the side you are pushing down you can get more power out (at least I can)
Congrats! You've just indepententy discovered honking. :)
I also cycle and make videos in city . But you guys are professional and I just do it for fun and definition daily activity and staying fit
i only use imported Italian Summer air in my tires. the winter air causes too much condensation on the inside of the inner tubes when the tire is moving.
it's expensive and hard to get but well worth the price, including the import / duty fees and shipping expense. i have a shipment coming in next week, 200,000 psi worth !
You could also use dried nitrogen (like aircraft use because there is no humidity in it).
A nitrogen generator will only cost you 10k $.
BTW, I understood your joke ;-)
@@simonm1447 we should start as boutique company !! we'll make millions. i think we should have various nitrogen types from dry to sweet. like wines. the French make the finest dried nitrogen but the Germans have the sweet market cornered.
Hi , nice to see you guys again.
Fast enough to pull away from a very fit German Shepherd!!!😎😎😎
Text book use of a lead out man🤣🤣
I was impressed with Manon's speed.
👊💪👍
Real tip how to maximize speed;
1. ride your bike up long hills
2. Ride your bike everyday
3. You’ll see faster speed on flats from climbing everyday
I think you're confusing maximum speed or average speed
@@bosphaxay7109 it’ll also help you on your max speed sprint as well.
Nice smooth road... Like decent weather wasn't already too much to ask for.
A Must Have!
I love Manon.
1:40 I would not be able to talk to the camera on the road. Long cracks, rocks, amd a person riding next to me. Too much anxiety :/
Staying so low, or sprinting requires training, and to go fast you need to produce extra power output. Bike is one thing, and your physical and physiological abilities - another.
For the past few months I tried my best to use turbo trainer regularly. I've got a cheapest of the cheapest. Bought it to find out whether I like it. I enjoyed gcn trainings. My bike is not the lightest or equipped with Dura Ace. I went today for a 60 mile ride and managed to knock off 40 minutes. I was surprised I was going faster than last year, and reached almost 50mph on downhills. I wasnt brave enough to go fater
So, my advice, buy a turbo trainer and start training. You will produce more power output = speed. As I live in Yorkshire, I find turbo trainer very useful to also increase my climbing performance in Yorkshire Dales.
Super nice
I've recently starting tracking cadence more closely and I think, like a lot of people, I've been neglecting high cadence work because I reach peak power at about 150rpm but most of my sprint training ends up at about 120. Spin to win etc
I use music helps my speed when in a deep sprint (try a sky full of stars from Coldplay next time, you're be surprised) and it's good to see two sprinters together challenging each other!
Additionally story time; I a couple of weeks ago overtook a woman in her 40's on a sta shifter road bike at Wilsford, Lincolnshire on the A153 who was in full Lyrica and me, I'm on a 1989 steel road bike (geared) and with zero Lyrica overtook her in fourth gear up the hill after just pulling out of the T junction and blasted past because I was 25 minutes late for work then realized I went so fast I was in actual fact 5 minutes early. I thought I'd tell this story as my legs regretted that 10 mile journey back and subsequently forced to second gear so learn from me and use your energy wisely!
on a flat road drafting behind a bus (no speedometer in the old days) well into the 40 plus mph range. downhill 60 mph... just regular flat roads for intervals, maybe 30 mpg
This is the video that I'm waiting!!
nice tips
Watching the "Manon Method" versus Hank in sprints - Manon gets into an aero tuck and spins like a dervish. Hank tucks too but favors higher gears to start with which gives more power but takes longer for each pedal stroke. I think the spinning with lower gears has better results at least at first. Video idea maybe? It's interesting to watch the presenters riding styles. Good video!
Amazing bike 😱
With those low positions, watch your necklaces if you wear them while riding... I've seen them snagged on head units and stems!
Tuyệt vời!
The video I was waiting for
I achieved 38 MPH within a range 300-400 metre with a custom-built bike with 33 inch wheels, long wheel-base, 60 teeth on the crank and a small cog in the rear.
Ah.. the joys of wind-doping. Possibly the one fun part about road riding in March. At least here in my area - hero-making tailwind on the way out on my training loop... leg-punishing headwind on the way back. But I did manage a couple of PRs during a ride last week.
I agree with Manon. My velomobile is amazing! Yes to recumbent trikes!
Thumbnail: Increase your maximum speed
Me than I look at the Thumbnail: very spicy food
Manon's all-black bicycle is gorgeous.
Idk about the speed but the flashing red cop/radar sign sign told me to SLOW DOWN LOL Loved the Vid. Manon is a great addition to the network. If you had used her for the 5th rider in your bogus claim about beating the Siborg you MIGHT have defeated it. You should use her for the rematch. Or that Yankee in the USA. However, all will be assimilated. Resistance is Futile.
i hit 107kph on a hill i used to commute down every evening. I was always stuck at the top waiting for the flow of traffic to reduce before making my descent as it was only a 2 lane road and cars were restricted to 30mph. the 107kph run was kind of by accident because i had an ambulance go past me and i just followed behind.
What computermounts do they run in this video? I‘m looking for a clean option to mount lights under the headunit on an aerocockpit.
Nice summary 🙂 not sure how you figure that tubeless is faster though....
Manon is so good, at presenting, at sprinting, and at roasting Connor
@3:00 Manon speaks about maximum speed while on the lowest gear :) And that talk about leaving the sprints to a good weather - check your physics! Times of low pressure (typically day with bad weather) is the best time for max speed! Low pressure is why they go to altitude for the hour record.
Is this a Giro Syntax MIPS helmet? What do you think about it?
Manon has great comedy timing in the videos. Fast becoming my favourite presenter on GCN. Fake crying in this, shouting at the lads in the 5 Vs 1 and laughing at penis jokes on the In Pursuit film.
I worked so hard to bay a great bicycle because of you guys 🤩🤗
Good to see Manon after so many days.
I love her style she's so cool 😎
Found my top speed in the 90's 74km/h on a slight slope. Bunny hopped a railway track at that time.
*Looks at thumbnail*
Easy on the chili, Manon.
Currently training for Ironman 70.3. I have a 20 mile country road circuit with 900ft overall of climbs but struggling getting my average above 16.5mph any tips ?
Manon will do anything to try to get back in the warmth of the recumbent. 😂
Manon's velomobile 😃 is epic!
Nice shoes Hank, what are they?
I managed 64km/hr on a shallow decline yesterday. My all time I think was 72km/hr back in 2018 when I had 0 experience 😜😜
You should also prefer wide-shouldered friends for a good acceleration :)
The fastest I've ever reached on my road bike down hill was 44 mph and on a flat surface 32 mph around my sprocket sizes are 50t in the front and 11t cassette in the back and it's a 2021 Giant Contend 3 I live in orange county ny so the wind I think slows me down but I'm also 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 184lbs around
#GCNdoesScience I wonder if you're getting a tailwind, what would be the most beneficial: stay on the flat bars, moving to the hoods or dropping full down? It'd be interesting to see where would the equilibrium be when traveling at like 20-25mph.
If the tailwind is faster than you, then sit up, otherwise get as aero as you can.
There's a steep downhill Strava segment close to where I live in Lancashire named "how fast can you go without killing yourself" = take it easy out there and stay safe folks.
How to share this video with Ollie?
So the way to go fast is downhill on a smooth road with a tailwind in fine conditions? I'll have to check that out 🙂
2:25 is hilarious! 😂
I know this is unrelated to the video, but I need to share it with some fellow bike people. I was biking home from rowing practice, and this group of guys (no masks) in a massive SUV drove right up next to me IN THE BIKE LANE, and yelled at me, “nice bike you fucking nerd.” This is the first time experiencing something like this, and I just can’t wrap my head around it. I didn’t do anything abnormal as that road in particular can get a lot of traffic, and I try to stay safe. I mean they literally went into the bike lane to tell me this! I’ve heard stories of people encountering drivers who just don’t like bikes, but nothing quite like this (they were driving really aggressively and nearly pushed me into the curb). Has something like this happened to you guys?
It happens, sadly.
It says a lot more about them than it does about you. Some people are just dicks and you were unlucky to meet a group at the same time. Forget it and move on because life is too short and this clearly wasn't aimed specifically at you. Dicks being dicks!! JP the old guy
Too often - people honking for no reason when right beside me in order to scare me. I’ve had drinks thrown on me (including once the whole drink including container), a confetti popper all over me, and people just yelling...”smile and wave boys, just smile and wave”. 🐧
@@JediMasterHilljr What the hell is wrong with these people? I'm so sorry to hear people behaving like this to you. Bloody idiots. When I encounter behavior like this I always think that it's only a brief passage of time, whereas, for them, they will stay trapped as a complete dick for their entire lives. I hope that helps. If you ever get the opportunity please come and visit Thailand. People say hello and wave and are only ever friendly. JP the old guy
@@Biking360 almost everyone is nice and courteous here in Utah. I go out of my way to wave or nod at drivers to show I appreciate them and they reciprocate.
What is return policy?
What are the pedals of Manon's bike?
What brand bike is she riding? it looks rad!
Reading the comments I would think Manon carries the weight of GCN over her shoulders
I wonder if the uci will ban Caleb Ewans sprint as he is basically springing in the super tuck 😂
The default is grip is to truly drop to your drops and not stay on your hoods when sprinting?
What is behind Manon's saddle?
If you drove over gravel and then hitting a pretty smooth asphalt road then you know the difference between smooth and non smooth surfaces. Especially when doing over 20k average on a fine gravel road
What’s the name of Manon’s mud guard?
Think of the smiles Hank, think of the SMILES.
What about rear gas release propulsion
Manon is definitely the most aero of you two hahaha.
Manon with a killer smile 😍❤️
Here's some simp pills
Manon looks fast dang..!
As I heard Hank's shout of "Manon" "man on" I thought, am I watching GCN or a football match. Is someone about to be tackled. Either way Hank was clearly playing left back!
62 mph, Lewiston, Idaho, USA. (Sucked into slipstream of a truck..didn't want to go that fast).
Weather Conditions.
"Now we have to stress, and I'm going to repeat this, do not sprint into a head wind......"
So do we have to wait for the follow-up video for you to repeat it or.....🤪
00:16 They need to fix the closed captioning where manon was asked about when she was "going for the land speed record"
I would like to know what Hank is having for breakfast.
My fastest is 44.7 on flat Cement roads, they are not as smooth as tarmac roads.
Shimano Tourney, I am underconfident on dropbars despite having them because downshift is on a different position. its okay
Iike Mannon's bike.
Intervals, intervals the best way to improve speed.
We can never forgive Hank for making Manon leave the recumbent...
3:55 Manon Is A Beautifull Lady,, But She Is a Professional Spriterrrr!!
Up Up Up Hankkk! hahahahah.. :D
Yes yes I do like and love to sprint but the problem is i am scared of that chain drop HAHAHAH
Should be titled "Manon lights the afterburner"
38.3MPH downhill and 27.2 on the flat
