See her face in the end was more a big deal in the light novel, because (idk if it’s mentioned) but you can’t see her face unless you truely accept her or smth like that so seeing her at the end was more a big deal
Actually it was the fact that Subaru was so afraid of her he was mentally blocking out her face (think of A Silent Voice) and it wasn't until the very end that he actually 'looked' at her in the WN I think (I could he wrong tho)
But thats also why they said that in the LN is was a bigger deal. The WN wil always have a few differences from the published work in how the author portrays things.
He was mentally overwhelmed by the fact Satella sounded so similar to Emilia, spoke with a kindness so similar to Emilia, and he didn't want to accept the truth that she looked just like her too

Well, *Spoiler* none of the witches here know about the Archbishops, only echidna would thanks to her book any emilias memories. And the witch factor turns into a personalized power depending on the person......for example the Greed factor in echidna gave her the book of knowledge, while for Regulus it made him almost invulnerable to attacks from what the anime has shown

There’s also the fact that Subaru would get the power but it’s different for him. I think Greed allowed him to take the pain his allies receive if I remember right.

When satella confessed to subaru he rejected her by saying he doesn't understand her, that he doesn't know anything about what she was saying. This reminded me of when rem tortured subaru and how rem reacted when subaru told her about how it went in the past loops of arc 2.
Funnily enough the reason he had his freak out was because he actually instinctively returned the feelings but refused to accept them. He loves Satella but didn’t understand why

At this point in the LN we don't know much about Satella, all we know is that she killed most of the witches and absorbed their abilities, that it required the most power people in the world to seal her as they were unable to kill her.

Archbishops are not related to witchs. They somehow obtained their "favor" and did whatever they want. Witchs don't control them they don't even know what powers they have or who they are.
I honestly liked Subaru until he accepted help from the people who made him suffer but what choice did he have at the time
None of this scene made sence to me. They turned the series entire villaness , the evil that terrified everyone into a sympathetic damsel that needed some kind of saving.
Satella and the Witch of Envy are two different entities.

She didn't kill them. But people blame her because...you know, everyone hates and fear her.
Typhoon drowned in a trap, Minerva has been captured and end up dying, Daphne starved to death in a Desert, Sekmet died fighting a dragon and Carmilla i don't remember exactly.

They died because of seperate reasons, Satella accually "saved" them by absorbing them and creating this whole tea party bs, for one day to revive them all IIRC, its been awhile though.

I don't know why but Satella (apart of that time when she appeared irl) was such a disappointment. Every line she said was just meaningless gibberish.
Every time it goes like this: Subaru asks what tf she wants from him or why did she returning him and she'll go like " you must love yourself more"...??? Bitch what are you talking about?
She gave zero viable info. I swear, we know more about any other witch in the series by this point but not the main one.
Apparently not even the phrase "common sence" exists in her dictionary, so it is in her character, I guess?
The best thing he could do is give up seriously, like u keep dying u have no powers but 2 respawn and the fact is they don’t won’t u 2 die when u have suffered so much death and revival that ur mentally insane then they ask u 2 not give up after u have been mentally broken over 10 times, on top of that u don’t owe anyone anything even ur friends because one it’s all fake u shouldn’t even be friends with them because u would actually die if u tried to be friends with them, and ur power is like a forced win no matter what since u don’t die but force so many realities, but u feel the pain in every one and u lose ur friends in every one they die in then they come back, the fact is it’s not true friendship because he will never truly be accepted for who he is, and now he has no actual personality beside wanting to save them why so he doesn’t die or so that he gets to the end and can finally die,

What if this whole anime used another MC who was the opposite who used the power to grow stronger instead of you know the usual saving and crying and being sad and crying and being depressed and crying and thinking from season 1 What am I doing? Etc etc and then ultimately crying 😂 and watching such weak character MC will indirectly impact your subconscious making you think it's okay to cry and be weak all the time like him in real life and in the end ultimately you will drown in depression why? I hope you can think of the author, and his intentions than simply mindlessly consuming. imagine if you were writing the story after ep 1, how easy would it be to write, "Then subaru, trained under reinhard/wilhelm for 1000 loop and becomes super strong, and everybody would be impressed how he is so strong with seemingly no muscle or magic" or "He used the loop 100 times for each fight and he memorized the enemy moves so that he can just dodge it blindfolded and everybody is impressed and loved him" glossing over the fact that pain is scary and dying is the no.1 or 2 fear a person has. This story is told from a normal person with normal abilities with a double sided sword of a power, where the neg side isn't brushed off for convenience like many other animes would. This in the end gives me more respect to subaru in that he survived and overcome all these obstacles with his tenacity, fear, wit and strength of a normal person. imagine if that was you, how much would you be able to overcome? Me personally would completly keep loosing at around arc 2-3, that would be a good way to appreciate this character as he is a normal person like we all
