    Hoo boy. Here we go.
    10: Denmark
    9: Norway
    6: Finland, Germany
    5: Estonia, Ireland
    4: Iceland, United Kingdom
    3: Austria, Belgium, Israel, Latvia
    2: Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus, France, Malta, Romania, Slovenia, Switzerland
    1: Armenia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Turkey, Ukraine, Yugoslavia
    Ah, Sweden. The country whose appeal has allowed them to hop, skip, and jump over (and into) voting blocs for years. They have managed to score with literally every country that's participated in Eurovision over the years. (Even Morocco!) Armenia may never see a point from Azerbaijan, and Ukraine may never again gift a 12 to Russia, but none of them are opposed to celebrating the land of ABBA. The hybrid system would've definitely helped them out in 2016 (CR would've switched loyalties to Hungary, but they'd keep their 12's from Finland and Estonia and gain two from Austria and Germany), less so in 2017 (just Denmark) and 2018 (zip, plus they'd sink down to tenth place).

      Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Also Finland. It appears Terry Wogan was always right about the Scandinavian/Nordic voting bloc, which mostly benefits Sweden much more than the other Nordic countries.
      PD: Also, Azerbaijan has never given Sweden any 12s in the final.

    Can I also point out how Terry Wogan mentioned that the UK was doing well in the same breath that he criticized bloc voting in 2002? (This might’ve been in another video but I remember it). Did he consider that maybe the UK does well, even with bloc voting, if they actually send a good song? (And Ireland wasn’t even in it that year! The other countries just liked the song!)

      @Asa...S Před 5 lety +5

      Well, In 2010 Sweden didn´t even qualify, because of the juries, and in 2011 Sweden was just 2 points from a win in the televotes, and the juries gave Sweden really low scores, so no, not _everytime_ .
      But yes, people working in the music industry, like on record companies and such are qualified to recognize hit songs, that´s what they do for a living.

    I am so happy we have never given them 12 points (although 2012 would be ok by me) since they are the most overrated country in Eurovision by sending literally the least inspired songs each year (again with the exception of 2012 and perhaps 2009).

    • @manueltreill6358
      @manueltreill6358 Před rokem +7

      Salty much? It's not their fault they send good songs in a SONG contest. Are all their entries amazing? No, a couple of them definitely aren't all that, but to say that they always send the most uninspired stuff is saltiness. They have the reputation that they have for a reason
