    Recently, a team of researchers from the School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sport Sciences at University College Dublin (Ireland) carried out a meta-analysis of the existing scientific literature, published in Obesity Reviews, with the aim of evaluating, classifying and comparing the efficacy of different interventions with exercises on markers associated with obesity.
    And while the experts determined that any type of exercise intervention is effective for weight loss relative to a control group that does not exercise, the results of their work show that interventions that combine high-intensity aerobic exercise and strength training High-load exercises exert beneficial effects that are superior to any other exercise modality in decreasing abdominal adiposity, improving lean body mass, and increasing cardiorespiratory fitness.
    In this way, it is confirmed that the most appropriate approach to achieve consistent weight loss is the combination of cardio and strength training, in line with what is recommended, for example, by the World Health Organization, which recently updated their physical activity guidelines.
