Hey you guys! Loved the video as always. I’m a solo driver but my wife is with me most of the time. We are cooking in the truck and take lots of stuff from the house. I just bought the Galanz air fryer, microwave, convection oven and we love it. You’re right, these truck stops are outrageous. Be safe out there and God bless.

We would choose a truckstop if it had an affordable, grocery store, affordable fuel, showers, etc. so that we could do everything all at once. Absolutely!

Bravo excellent! The thing about this is that this is how trucks should come. They really need people like you and me who believe in cooking in your truck to design these trucks from the beginning to be more livable
    Blessings and abundance

Amen!!!!! One of my goals and ambitions is to work with truck manufacturers to have them make changes so the truck is more like a home. To make cooking and comfort to be a thing.

We have a Coleman Fold n Go grill, air fryer, multi function crockpot, ninja for smoothies, We have the truck fridge and a fridge freezer combo fridge. We go to Walmart and grocery shop. EVERYTIME we decide to not cook and eat out we instantly regret it. We are about to be back on a dedicated route which means we can food prep and only bring the prepped food with us. That worked out perfectly in the past for us. This is a great topic.

I drove with hubby 20yrs ago. Had microwave, crockpot, coffee maker, toaster, and lil grill. I cooked all kinds of stuff. Did groc shopping at walmart. Back then groceries bought 100 miles from home was write off on taxes.

Some of the Kwik Trip/Kwik Star gas stations are considered truck stops. They have fuel, food and showers. In the gas station they have many choices. Heated foods fountain drinks, coffee, eggs, salads, fruit, veggies, water, pop, some meat choices, etc. One of my favorite places to stop at ,They have their own bread and it has been cheaper than Walmart in the past same for their bananas and milk at least in the past.

I try to cook as often as possible in my truck. The cost of eating out at truck stops up here in Canada is atrocious. I try to meal prep when I go on the road, such as overnight oats, sandwiches, I drink a lot of protein shakes and carry protein bars. I also have a lot of eggs with me as well as frozen fruit and bananas. Because I drive a ‘24 Mack Anthem, I’m very limited for space. I even do my own coffee as even coffee has gotten expensive at places such as Tim Hortons and McDonalds. Love your videos guys! Keep up the great work!!👍😎

I try to cook healthy meals all week long. Then I send the leftovers with my husband the next week. He has a microwave and a Hot Logic on his truck. He us diabetic, so healthy eating is important. He tries not to park at Truck Stops to save money. I love to ride with him during the summer. I cook for him when I ride with him.😊

I think the meals like hello fresh absolutely would go over well for days you dont feel like cooking. I do 99.9% of the cooking for me & and hubby, and some days i'm just too tired. There are a few Kwik Trips that have the grogery options, but theyre harder to find. I wish more truckstops had the options. We average going to Walmart once a month, and freezer meals are very helpful, but not necessarily healthy

Thanks for the feedback!!! I really appreciate it!! We thought it would be awesome to have a dg market store inside the truck stop. Or a small aldi. But what do we know lol

I'd love to see a grocery store in a truck stop, but the reality is that healthy options will not sell good like that manager said. The majority of truckers are the reason all truckers don't have that option unless we cook ourselves. When they think of a good meal, it will include 1,000+ calories and 2,000mg of sodium from a diner.
Instacart is a good option I've used in the past if the truck stop you're stopping at has a grocery store nearby.

I would rather cook in the truck, but these are the issues we run into: room in fridge, room in truck. We stay out 6-8 weeks at a time and run flatbed. With enough clothing, equipment, etc there is simply no room. Plus availability of foods can be an issue also.

What helped us greatly was having a portable fridge/freezer along with the built in fridge. We used it as a freezer to store frozen homemade meals and frozen meats. We can defrost and reheat the meals in the microwave or air fryer. And cook the meats in the air fryer. Good sausages can be cooked in either. We could store at least two weeks of frozen food in the portable freezer. We kept it on the top bunk. We used the built in fridge for veggies and fruits that needed to be refrigerated. Picking up or having groceries delivered to us on our 34 helped us keep a good supply of fresh produce and other foods we ran out of.
A monthly Costco run supplied us with snack like nuts, protein bars and drinks, meat sticks, toasted seaweed and a few other healthy snacks. Having enough healthy snacks on board helped with any temptations at the truck stops.

Cost is a factor I wish they had more grocery items for times we can't get to a regular store. I do feel however the prices they would make things would be to expensive to be worth buying it there. I ride with my husband full time.

I hate to break the news to you buy that's the going price for bread everywhere unless you're in a small town. I cringe everytime I have to buy bread. Let's not get into Mayonnaise I've seen it at 10 dollars a small jar. I live in a big city that's the going rate.
