In today’s MercBenzKing's episode, we present to you the all-new 2023 Mercedes-AMG C63 in a drive review through Malaga Spain. It has a 2.0L 4 Cylinder with Formula 1 electric boost. No more V8 BiTurbo. In total more than 680HP and 1040Nm of Torque.

@@derkek-qj5xq Es ist ja nicht der Verbrenner, der die ganze Leistung produziert, sondern der Elektromotor als Zusatz. Natürlich sind 400+ PS für einen 2l 4 Zylinder krass, man hat aber in der Vergangenheit gesehen, dass das gut funktioniert (Siehe A45S und CLA45S)
@@AffalterbachV8 Naja. Der 4Zylinder Motor macht relativ früh Probleme. Gut funktionieren für das PS-Liter-Verhältnis ja. Generell gut funktionieren? Eher weniger...
@@chumi6468 Wir hatte einen CLA45S für 2½ Jahre und er hat kein einziges Mal Probleme gemacht. Haben ihn mit ca. 25000 Km geholt und am Ende mit knapp 68000 abgegeben. Natürlich, wie er mit über 100000 wär, kann ich nicht sagen und ist auch nur meine Erfahrung

Imagine how hott this car would have been with the V8 turned up to 600hp, MINUS all that hybrid junk. This car has gained so much weigh that any performance gains are nearly cancelled out.
As much as I hate to admit it, initial torque of electricity will always reign supreme, that's if you know the basic physics of electrons being "infinitely" charged, hence the continuous boost, if you will. Although you can't replace displacement, hence why top end speed will always go to the bigger engine.
the car has got a lot of peformance gain since the last model, one reason is why the last one was RWD and not AWD
@@rattusrattus9988 The last car was almost a 1000lbs lighter. This new 63 will have more grip, not overall performance.
This will still out perform the 600hp v8. Electrification stomps on N/A or twin turbo.
This is the fastest c63 ever.
@@bobvance- You have no clue what you're talking about. Try to think for a sec. A C63 with a 600+hp version of the previous V8 MINUS all that hybrid junk would be almost a 1000lbs lighter than than this 4-cylinder setup. This might end up being the fastest C63 ever, but it needs 680hp to do so because it has gained over 900lbs. It has more hp than the outgoing E63 just to wind up a few ticks faster than the old V8 C63. That is not an advancement, it's compensation. No one mentioned electrification so who cares.
It‘s a beautiful and amazing car if it was a C43. But a C63 deserves a V8.

I think AMG puts a literal microphone in the exhaust and sends it to the cabin. It’s not an artificial sound but it’s the best they can do right now despite how restrictive regular are becoming for them
This is the world we're stuck with since everyone's trying to push the climate change agenda. Car manufacturers had to significantly increase fuel efficiency and reduce emissions. It's to a point where in the next two decades they will be pushed to phase completely into in all electric lineup. So if you're someone who pushes the climate change narrative, it's your fault that the c63 died.

Honestly, the looks of it are really good from the outside. Interior and engine wise, it's a shame. I can hear the dashboard rattle away over the fake noises of my speakers trying to enhance the 4 cylinder mess in the front

they should have at least made it a v6 or an I6 if they're going the hybrid route as I understand the smaller C-class chassis isn't big or capable enough to hold that weight of the powertrain.

@@adidkjf says 3.4. That’s at optimal setting. Doesn’t change the fact that the 63s have been known for having some of the best sounding stock v8s. Ur sounding like a clown my g. Ppl tend to forget that cars are more than just the performance and rather the whole experience which is more than it’s drivability. Sound, steering feel, weight make a huge difference

I think Mercedes just dropped the ball here, why lose the V8, i understand they are doing as much as they can to reduce carbon footprint but come on the V8 engine was best on the C63💯
I couldn't agree more but the reason is the new fines from the EU. They take total carbon emissions and divide it by how many cars they sell. If it's over a certain number they have to pay fines. The age of the gas guzzling powerhouses is over, sadly.
Doesn't change anything, v12 engines are still out there and ferrari still makes v8, no excuse

TBH I don't see which market segment these kind of new "performance" cars are trying to get: they don't have a proper ICE engine, they don't have a proper electric engine, people who buy these cars are typically not interested in the range. So these half baked performance cars make absolutely no sense, either you switch completely to electric, gaining even in performances, or you stick to ICE but with a proper engine (at least 6 cylinders)...

Is the battery temperature sensitive?
Well, the good thing about these batteries is that they are cheaper than replacing an entire battery pack in say a Tesla or Lucid.

As the owner G65 AMG 2013 and C63 AMG w204 2013, I was thinking of selling it the other day due to enormous maintenance, costs from daily driving it but after watching this, I change my mind and appreciate those 2 alot more.
Gonna put in garage for occasional cafe & get an electric one to replace my daily driving rather than having this hybrid in long term
So u have 2 daily drivers but ur gonna buy a much worst and boring daily driver, so u dont have to daily drive ur fun daily driver 😂

When it run out of batt, it will be even slower than a c43 becoz of its weight. It will not stand a chance against an M3 or even an m340 with a low batt
Engine thermique is very powerfull but to small if you want more power to tune them. it need minimum a six cylinder.I'm disappointed.

@@BoniM. I've heard in Mercedes service that cylider heads of new A45 are failing often, where it has "only" 421hp. I have a E63s tuned to nearly 800hp and I am adding 10% of ethanol to fuel for engine safety. It has 4l, so under 400hp per 2l, with other mods such as wagner IC. I gues the temps and knocking of 2.0l motor generating 476hp i c63 is the problem. It has so much load form factory as heavily modifed engines running E85 or methanol, where it runs only on 98 octane gasoline.

It’s a great looking car, but the engine/hybrid setup is concerning in regards to longevity. You still see v8/v12 amg cars on the road because those engines were built like tanks.
There isn’t going to be much room to tune the 4 cylinder engine on this car. And the electrical motor is a big question mark.
"63" means MB M157 biturbo 4.0 V8 not a 2.0 4 cyl
