Maintenance put a thermometer in my refrigerator and the temperature goes up very quickly only seconds after the door is left open I was so surprised

Is it just me who keeps oranges in a fruit bowl and not in the frige?
Rireru Lu nope my mom does but i like cold oranges so i always put mine in the fridge
We keep some in a bowl on the counter and some in the fridge, same with apples. My kids love them cold as where i dont.
Rireru Lu reference I guess , I always leaves my out because I don’t like it cold , my dad however put them in the refrigerator so we slit them up
Oranges should always be outside, if you want juicer oranges leave them outside on the counter just like tomatoes always on the counter they taste better and sweet
As soon as I come home from grocery shopping I put my oranges in the fridge they just taste better cold like orange juice minus the sugar 😂

FYI.. onions shouldn't be refrigerated if not cut, they put off a gas and will spoil other food nearby
Also keeping them away from potatoes and out of the light.
The gas also makes the onion itself go bad in 24 hours.
Normally people put them in baskets. Same with potatoes. Keep potatoes out of the dark. They roots will grow. The think darkness means they in the soil
I have always stored my onions in the fridge and have never notice them going bad or spoiling food around them, however, in Mexico they store many veggies outside the fridge but even the eggs are never refrigerated. It’s so weird to me so that’s why I just throw almost everything in there lol

Just wanted to let you know that if your fresh produce is not refrigerated at the store you're not supposed to refrigerate it at home. That helps to make it last longer. I used to refrigerate all of my fresh produce also but now that I followed this information my produce lasts twice as long. If there is something I prefer cold I will refrigerate overnight for the next day or refrigerate in the morning when I wake up. This has saved me money and food waste. Just a tip I've learned and wanted to share. Love your videos and your family and am so excited about baby boy! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Yes, dont put tomatoes in the fridge, oranges and apples will last longer in the fridge though.

Organizing is so good for the flow of good energy. Any one else experience this?
You don't need a special container for lettuce. Line a zip lock with paper towels, toss in lettuce and zip it up making sure to get all of the air out. Your lettuce will last for weeks.
EDIT: I also do this with my herbs and anything else that tends to hold moisture. It works wonders!

Leave one small opening on the end of the bag. Lettuce and spinach need air flow.
This is great and all but realistically where would you have room to put left over food from the previous night?

Lmao I came to check the comments out to see if anyone said it. That was my first thought too. The bigger Dollar Tree stores have some good clear containers too. I just like seeing the end result. It looks fantastic.

Organizing with bins is satisfying. I would love to have seen you use labels as well.
And btw, the people who designed the fridge made it so that milk and other liquids could be stored on the bottom shelf. It was designed to be colder in that area for liquids, and the liquids won’t fluctuate between different temperatures, which will make them last a lot longer. Also, you should keep the eggs in their regular egg cartons because the cartons are especially made to protect the eggs from absorbing gases and scents from other foods around them.
Oh, and the fruits and veggies should be separate from one another because they tend to absorb each other’s gases which make them expire a lot faster.

This video was amazing! I’m 18 weeks pregnant and have been feeling the urge to organize EVERYTHING before baby comes. We have the same fridge so I’m basically going to go buy everything you used to do my fridge too. It looks soo nice! 💕 Also, congrats on the baby boy! Jan Snook actually, it helps slow the ripening. I’ve never had any of mine go black inside from refrigeration. I take them out a day or 2before I need them so they can soften...

During this pandemic I’ve taken advantage of my spare time at home and decided to do a massive cleaning. One room per day. Today’s focus is my fridge. Thanks for this video cuz I’m going to take your approach at organizing it.

Your BEFORE view is MUCH better than my mom's! My brother lives with my mom and he is afraid to go into it because it is so packed he only grabs what is visible when he opens the door. Her fridge is like TETRIS!! Keep in mind her fridge is an apartment-sized one so not nearly as spacious as yours.

That was so satisfying to watch. Before your fruit goes down, cut them up and freeze them for smoothies. You can even freeze your baby spinach leaves. I make little ziploc bags ready for my smoothies in the exact quantities I need. Guacamole freezes well too. Use lemon and chilli flakes, yum.

This looks great! Question. How do you keep track of when the eggs expire in those clear bins? I’ve always wanted to get them, too because they look amazing, but don’t because of that reason 😫

If you put an egg in a cup of water and it completely sinks then it's 100% as fresh as can be. If it floats completely then it's gone bad and if it floats somewhere in the middle it usually means it's 1-2 weeks old and still okay to eat, just won't be the freshest
I have a notepad on my fridge door and I jot the expiration dates on it. I do this for my meats too bc I don’t use an entire pack of chicken at once so I separate them into containers. It works great for us

I have the exact same fridge so it was nice to see how somebody else organizes theirs. I feel like I have a hard time fitting things in because even though it’s a big fridge it’s not a lot of useful space. So I enjoyed seeing how someone organized it.

Interdesign and Mdesign are fav for acrylic containers. They're such good quality. I've had them for years and they still look brand new. Well worth the price🧡
