That just happened to me. While it hurts I know that having a toxic friend is not what I want or need. The things she said to and about me was bad enough, I can only imagine what she said behind my back. Thank you for your perspective it has helped me to finally put this recent hurt away.

Yessss!! U are absolutely 💯💯💯 right!! Saddly, I experience this too often w/specific family members. Its soo disturbing & disappointing to endure toxic family members. Its difficult to not take it personally when specific family members purposely (or not), choose to directly hurt me for their own benefit. Its just not right. I'll never understand why they don't care enuf to work on themselves & or choose not to be soo hurtful!! And then I'm the one thats told to not be soo sensitive. And I'm an empath & i have ALWAYS been a sensitive soul. So there are times that their misdirected anger affects me more deeply than other times. Its not always easy to just suck it up & pretend, especially when it occurs on a regular basis.

This is very good! I married a toxic man and I looked up and I was drinking and partying, I was spending hundreds of dollars on liquor 🥃 and feeding his habits. When I got a revaluation and woke up. He cheated and left me. I was hurt 😞 but I had to shake it off. Because I had turned into someone that I didn’t even know. I wasn’t a drinker and a partier everyday. I got back to who I was and he didn’t like me anymore. It’s okay I’ve been single every since. God has someone great for me. Thank you for this message

This is so True, OMG, toxic people are like a virus, a true pandemic which spreads and could be unstoppable and deadly, if you can't distance yourself from them just don't let them contaminate you with their evil and vile hate and behavior of discrimination and depression and hopelessness, we all want to feel love, joy, and hope, so we need to be around people who make us feel loved and appreciated 💜 for some reason I have always been in toxic relationships, thinking that I can help them, and I need to be there for them to be better people, to love themselves and someone need's to love them, but they just destroy me in the process, tearing me down and a person can only fall so far before they hit rock bottom and basically drown, or feel like you are just circling the drain, in quick sand with no way out, so don't....DON'T wait till you are to that point!!

While living in situations you describe, a lot of good people probably feel isolated and alone. I definitely do, thò I know I can only speak for myself. I am glad that in some small way I could be of some comfort and significance, I pray for guidance and wisdom, and when I chose to ask for direction, protection and to be a Blessing to others, I felt a burden lifted and a sense of Freedom I can't even explain....I just want to share with others, to pray for wisdom and understanding to make the right choices and the rest will fall in place if you can let go of the dysfunctional comfort that has become your "Normal" trials and challenges make us uncomfortable so we can evaluate the dysfunctional situations that we have become comfortable in...😥

My mom was a acholic and because of the commandment Honor thy Father and thy mother I Loved her with all of my heart, it was hard but I tried to live far from her. But I still help her when she needed me, and I still Love her today and forever.
This is such a relevant message for Christians today. I was just complaining to a friend that churches don't teach people about the fact that there are so many extremely toxic people in our midst. They masquerade as "' highly spiritual and morally superior" and yet in reality they are highly controlling and manipulative people. . I believe these are the people Jesus referred tp as " wolves in sheep's clothing. I know there are different levels of toxic and that we all have some toxic in us. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the actual predatory type of toxic. That's the kind I was not aware of when I became a born again Christian . I sure could have used a few warnings early on. It would have saved me a lot of heartache and confusion.
I used to have a "best friend" for years.... We were like some inseparable sisters! She is older than me, so I thought she was smarter and also more mature, so I kind inspired myself on her. We were friends for about 17 years and we shared life in many ways... I moved overseas and stayed for almost 4 years and the friendship survived time and distance. She met other people, so did I. When I returned we were still great friends... I shared everything with her, even material things, because she is very poor. But she complained a lot about life and I really thought she didn't have much chance in life, that's why things were so difficult for her. We would rarely disagree with each other... I was a chronic complainer too... I was always unhappy with my life and I tended to see the dark side of everything. When I accepted Jesus into my life for real, obviously He started to change me from inside out and I started to realize I was a toxican person in many ways, specially in terms of being too critical and for complaining a lot. So then, we decided to be housemates for 1 year... And here we go! Of course, God was working in my life and I realized my biggest bad influence: my "best friend". Years being influenced by a wrong "God" she believes, by a lazy, immature and irresponsible person she is (that's why she is poor). She is also absolutely spoiled and proud. I never really saw those things until we live under the same ceiling... But I am glad God unveiled everything. I still love her and wish she will be save someday. We rarely talk now, because when we do, it always ends up in arguments... She is a Progressist/ Leftist and our values are totally different now. She even is for abortion, genre theory, non traditional families, feminism and she got this influence from other toxic people. I am sharing this story with you guys, because it's always possible we are "sleeping with the enemy"... We never know who are the friends of our friends, and how much they are influenced by other toxic people. Unfortunately the friendship is over, but I am glad to be living what's in the scriptures: Jesus came to bring the sword, and although I would much rather her to be here by my side sharing the gospel with me, I am glad I am not on her side. God bless her, but no toxic people in my life anymore.

Sounds like me and my now ex bestie. She's manipulative and cunning all while playing innocent and the victim. My mom, equally toxic, told me to ditch her, but my mom thought she herself should be my only friend and I should dump all my friends, so I didn't listen. The one time mom was right 🤦♀️. I see it now, accepting Jesus and the growth God has helped me through has shown me toxic people. Still healing from toxic family but by the grace of God it's happening and I'm getting better. You can loose the ability to take things personally. Sometimes taking something personally is the only way to change the other person's feelings. Vulnerability is the key to touching other's hearts. Toxic people should be avoided but almost everyone is. The challenge is to know yourself well enough to know when you have the energy to commit and see it through (attempting to confront toxicity) vs. Plain old avoidance, grey stoning, and distance. Toxic people feed on the peaceful and compassionate energies- sometimes we have to say no. There is such a thing as "unforgivable."

My counselor tells me to set boundaries with my family because they were always insulting me and trying to bring me down. The Bible tells me in Proverbs 12:16 that “The anger of a fool becomes readily apparent, but the prudent person overlooks an insult.” I used to let their comments get to me and react in immature and insecure ways letting them know I was offended but that was a way of letting them have power over me. It’s much better when I ignore them and let them marinate on their vicious comments. God is good. I pray this helps some.

I had to cut my own mom off. It was draining to my soul. She never said anything positive it was always negative. It became draining to the point I wanted to scream. I prayed about it for years I never got know resolution to it.so I just love my mom from distance and I feel better.

Me also had to cut my mom off. The HOLY SPIRIT said to me thst they are gossiping about me, still I was going at her home. But when I visit she didn't let me come inside but on the balcony. So many times and I was talking it again with the HOLY SPIRIT and the word came that I should leave my fathers house. In this it was my mother's house and I am not going there anymore than when GOD let it. I love her but also from a dinstance and I have peace.

Almost 4 years remarried was married to a narcissist for many years, God on pain pills but got clean. Had PTSD very severely. Got better over the past 3 years. Not pregnant with twins tubes were tied and I'm age 41. Left the place I used to live.

Well I'm a nervous wreck from toxicity I tried everything therapy meds,conversation, compassion, love but nothing worked out for me the person laughs I had to make a decision to let them know I had enough of the negativity and I rather leave with my dignity and soul than let them have what little I do have left because they don't got nothing to lose but I do,so see you devil you can have all your negative people who you assigned to destroy me.
You just need Jesus and get to know him. Let him change you from the inside.

I think that it's because of the 'long suffering' teaching and if we have not had the best upbringing we don't notice at first. God's grace! It was one of the reasons why I haven't been and I really need it.
It's one thing not to take offense from people in passing; a grocery clerk, another driver, etc. But its another thing when an offender has access to your life. No you do not allow someone to continue their offenses toward you to wear down your good nature.
We must take note of these offenses and protect ourselves against future offenses. That could mean stopping them dead in their tracks and closing that door. Perhaps they will learn a lesson from that.
But we don't have to continue to endure unhealthy toxic relationships. The Bible says, "A companion of fools shall be destroyed."
Now it's another thing if a toxic, lost person comes to church to seek help. Then it becomes God's responsibility to transform them. And the congregation can support them thru this process. But God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are the transformers.
This us true , believe me as I'm old enough to say it that this world is full of toxic people and relationships. I say, every Person wears a mask. They are good of what they do. They been practicing since they were a child... They blame chilhood problems but we all know helos out there but that a high to them. God us with us all, stand by him!
