Introducing the Audi RS e-tron GT!
It’s Audi’s answer to the Tesla Model S Plaid Plus & the Porsche Taycan Turbo, and Mat’s got his hands on one to see if this all-new Audi can make it alongside these class-leaders!
So if we’re comparing it to the Taycan Turbo & Plaid Plus, then you already know RS e-tron is packing a punch! It’s got two electric motors (one at the front, one at the back) and combined they can produce 598hp. However, the e-tron GT also comes with a boost function, which for 2.5 seconds will deliver 646hp! Not only that, but Audi claim it can hit 60mph in just 3.3 seconds.
When looking at the battery, the e-tron GT has a 93kWh battery pack, which Audi claims will be good for a range of 300 miles. However, we’ve seen electric cars drop well below their claimed range before, so do you think the e-tron will offer good enough economy? You’d sure hope it would, especially given the range-topping RS e-tron GT Vorsprung comes in at an eye-watering £133,000!!

It is a revolting colour.
The carwow colourization makes it look much less green than I’ve seen it elsewhere... don’t forget this is the channel with the purple Golf R.

I like that a good proportion of controls are physical, and not accessed via a screen (like the Taycan).

They can be as good in some ways but they can’t in others
But the weight is so far down the chassis. So its kinda OK. Not gonna be rallying in them or anything but yeah, really playful in the corners still
So many factors come into range. Outside temperature, type of driving (ie highway, stop and go, etc), how hard you accelerate, what accessories you’re using (air con, seat heaters, rear defrost, etc). Hearing from former Tesla owners, Audi’s estimated range are far closer then Tesla’s.

No. The Taycan is simply much more cohesive. This is a bits and pieces based "beautiful" car. It may look good now but how will it hold up over a couple of years?
@@LordTechPro I dont quite share your view. It will hold it's prestige just like basically every modern Audi. Perfect interior, futuristic and modern exterior.
Where do you base that Taycan's exterior is more "durable"? Because it is more curvy, lol? I see them aging the same way.
@@Wulf44445 Each to their own. The Taycan is in a league of its own. The RSQ8 and the RS e-tron GT are watered down versions of the Porsche Cayenne/Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Taycan. VW is smart, they want you to spend more money, to avoid the embarrassment of buying a lower priced car.
A car should be good on its own merit, not be known as a watered down version of something else
Test drove one. Comfortable, fast response. Beautiful exterior. Tight inside especially without the glass roof. Didn't feel as luxurious as it should be considering the price tag. Quite a few things to improve.

Exactly it’s a GT right? From pictures I’ve seen of the Taycan the more tracky, sportier has an armrest.
New accessory opportunity.. A long lid for the compartment between the seats that extends forward enough to serve as an armrest. Unfortunately, it would block the cup holders.
It's unnecessary because you have to sell one of your arms in order to afford this baby.
This really is an extremely beautiful car, not so keen on this colour tho ...

Great video. I found it really funny when you were honking the horn at people walking. An old couple in a car at one of the rounda-abouts were having a good look. It's an amazing car. I'm not really sure about the colour though. I'd rather it was something slightly brighter or maybe even a matt grey, but not this strange colour, which I think they should name "Health Smoothie". It's also the same colour as rotten Avocado.

I love this guys interviews from way back but now he sponsors more commercials than it’s worth. Great job Matt , but cool it on the commercials.
As an owner of this car myself here is a couple of things you forgot to mention. The massage function on the chairs and the autopark (lifesaver for bad drivers) i also have to say if your sat in the back its not very good for long journeys, lots of people get car sick. Also i love the way you were complaining about the noise. Lmao.
Personally, I'd have the sound on. Grown up with sound driving, so even though it's fake, it would still feel more natural I think. Plus, I actually think it sounds cool
it should be mandatory have the varying levels of sound in EVe as a silent car is dangerous for many. I hope they bring a regulation for this.

It's not a filter, when they are editing the video they just need someone to "grade" the footage better. The inaccurate colours might just be someone with a monitor that's not calibrated correctly, on their screen it looks right and so they upload but what we all see is the colours being completely off. It's an easy fix but it can't be fixed now it's uploaded.

I've loved this car since I 1st seen it when it was just a concept, the actual version came out PERFECT!! It's beautiful and is definitely going to steal some Taycan and Tesla buyers.. Great review the color is really unique and very fitting... You should definitely get the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, they're leaps better than an Apple IPhone 12+ Maxx Pro HD....LBS👏🏾👌🏾👏🏾✊🏾
