Hit the black button on the side of the unit.
Then hit the remote 2 times

You might have limits that you need to adjust.
It has gears and worm gears. I adjusted this before in anther gate.

Do you have to buy an eagle remote or can I use a universal remote?

I do not know.
My guess is yes a universal remote could or a after market would work. However that said they have many version after market remote.

Why my gate close half way then open? The gate will not close for the master and slave gate.
