Clever idea! Can you help me understand it just in one more detail? Why six inches - is it because of your shoulder width? I have a broad back and would like to make this with a non stretchy fabric so I can embroider something onto it, so measuring is going to be more important for me.

Hello! The 6" measurement is the length from neck hole to armhole on top of each shoulder. If you have a t-shirt that fits you well, you can take the measurements from that. I hope this helps.
