I Played as the Star Federation in Starsector

- Today In Starsector i'm gonna be playing as the Star federation and setting up my own faction within the Star federation. The StarFed have always had a place in my heart because i'm a massive FTL Fan so I thought i'd finally give them ago.

So there's a planet in the core world called "Askja" and if you sign up with the persean league they'll let you drop a colony there. With an orbital fusion lamp this planet achieves a 100% habitability located in the Thule system so it's possible to achieve over 200% access. Using this as a starting point I was able to completely conquer Thule by 211. So far this is the most powerful I've ever been, I have three pristine nanoforges in Thule, and I make like half a million a month. So I completely conquered the luddic church and gave all their weak colonies to the pirates. Next I'm going to join the pirates and conquer the hedge.
On my next game I want to try vanilla again, it's been so long haha. The idea is to conquer Tech Duin which I think is definitely the most interesting colony, it even has its own song. It has a ton of unique modifiers and of course it's loaded with all the best industries. Then make nice with the pirates so I can be the pirate king 👑
@@MYPSYAI You can’t conquer in vanilla, that’s a Nexerelin feature.
Vanilla only allows you to raid and bombard.
@@5RndsFFE yeah lol i just actually played vanilla for the first time in 5 years the other day and realized everything i was saying was way off. Sorry the last time i played vanilla was before it went on steam, so it has definitely been a while.

How do you give a colony to someone?
I love how well Federation fits into Starsector.
It's as if they had always been there, in the boonies, developing their weird overengineered ship designs, apprently for no reason other than not wanting to be like all the other kids. Only to end up as one of the most technologically advanced(if awkward) factions with the collapse of the Domain.
also love the little lore tid-bits, like how they used to use the jump-drives before the collapse but during it the engines all fried and were not operable, leaving what is in the sector stuck here, with the anti-ai laws the way they converted their droneships/scouts to human piloted, little lore-bits of what the federation remembers from the past (ie, the main story of ftl)
I really like them, and their ships. Some fun ships, and yes, quite a bit awkwardness on some of their stuff
It DESPARATELY lacks quests tho, after my midterms i'll try and make a submod
@@slick329 Yes please. I've long since wanted to play though Starsector using only Federation ships, a bunch of quests that flesh out the faction would be most welcome.

the daptrius when overdriven with plasma streamers is a MENACE because the passive of streamers causing some of its damage to be converted to soft flux as well it can melt thru shields and armor alike

the Auroran experimental missile cruiser got nerfed like right after your vid making it so it can only have 2 semibreve launchers. and the changed the size/ammo of the semibreve so that you get 2 launches per deployment with a really long cool down between shots
I love ur vods from Starsector (as an ADDICT of that game JEEEEEEEEEEZ!) :) I am astonished u do not have too many mods at all - I mean not faction ones but QOL and sh*t :P
This is one of my favorite mods for this game, safety overrides Nesasio is very fun
Not really on topic for the gameplay, but... there are a *LOT* of ways to prepare chicken, and a *LOT* of different types of rice as well as a few good ways to prepare that. If it's bland and boring, you need to get better at cooking and/or shopping and/or finding good restaurants.

UAF is the "my OC beats everybody's OC because they're the strongest and prettiest" faction lol. the only saving grace it has is that it's very well made and people glazing it at every turn.
It’s a shame he didn’t use the phase fighters. They survive a long time and have flamethrowers.

Hey Rare, I feel ya on the chronic tinnitus. I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease which is basically ETD on steroids and permanent.

I would love tutorials, your drug video was a bit to quick with to many skipped steps, such as it was the very start, just started trading drugs with two ships, then all of a sudden you had 3 then 5 or more and I didn’t know at what point you got those, but tutorials would be lovely.
