Theres a small story from my mothers side:- during the British rule, my mother's great great grandfather was the "zamindar" of that region, like a small king. There was an old temple in that region which is currently destroyed, that temple was said To house tons of golds and other treasures, so during the British invasion the British troops looted the temple for around 100 times but still couldn't able to move all of the treasure from the temples vault, and as a result they destroyed the temple so that no one can get the rest. As times passed everyone forgot where the temple actually was, and till date no one knows where it is. It has billions of worth of treasury. This is just a small example of how much rich the ancient India was. It wasn't called the "Golden Bird" for no reason

The first king Marthandavarma himself dedicated everything including his physical body to Padmanabha and pledged to rule the country on behalf of Padmanabha as a slave from 18th century. His successors also follow his path and led a very simple life as brahmacharis. They didn't get married or live luxuriously. They followed matrelineal system as they have no children nephews took over the reign. They stored everything under the rooms of the Padmanabha idol. They never counted these treasures. In 1948 The last king Sri Chithira thirunal Bala rama varma merged the country with Indian union. During that time also even a penny had not been taken by the Royal family. That's their Greatness 🙏🙏

Lord Padmanabha is the Kuladaivam of Travancore dynasty. The first king Marthandavarma himself dedicated everything including his physical body to Padmanabha and pledged to rule the country on behalf of Padmanabha as a slave from 18th century.

They didn't get married or live luxuriously. They followed matrelineal system as they have no children nephews took over the reign.

This Temple is such a mystery. Nobody till date has provided any official information on what could be inside the temple vaults.
