      He's said before that sometimes he finds it easier to do a heavier lift. It seems like he only fails with very slight technical errors more than muscle failure

    Now am i missing something because this doesn't seem to be that much to me. I mean clarence kennedy raw deep squatted 306 kg out of competition, while always staying around 100 kg. Is it just because he's worse at other lifts like bench or something like that. I'm no pro in powerlifting so i've no idea.

    • @mrdisco8616
      @mrdisco8616 Před 5 lety +8

      Clarence is one of the best lifters in the world but he wouldn't compete drug tested and the squat is his best lift. This is drug tested powerlifting and the deadlift is Bryce's best lift (or was at the time). That mostly explains the similar squats. Oh and I think Clarence had gotten heavier when he did 306kg but I'm not sure.

    • @justamustachewithoutaguy9370
      @justamustachewithoutaguy9370 Před 4 lety +1

      You see, everyone says clarence would do some real damage to powerlifting if he just dedicates some time to it, and I agree, but he doesn't really care.
      My low bar squat with belt+knee sleeves is a good 100 lbs more than my atg squat without any equipment. Imma bet clarence at his best would've hit 750+ lbs powerlifting style squats

      preface this with i am no expert. but isn't OLYMPIC weightlifting usually tested?(serious question, i just assumed it is) but iirc clarence has said that he wants to focus on weightlifting while he is still young and may transition to powerlifting when he's older and less explosive
