I have one too which I bought brand new for £129.00 from Wilkinson’s in Carlisle. I use it mainly for tight head shots and find that the f2.8 combined with the long 60mm focal length on MFT gives me more than enough bokeh for anything I need, indeed I normally shoot at around F4 where the lens is, in my opinion, pretty flawless. Like you I’ve had a few disparaging comments about the rattle when switched off but I’ve never found it an issue, just a novelty. Good video, thanks
sigma have certainly come a long way since their humble beginnings making lenses that didn't exactly inspire confidence in the build quality department! and their art lenses are now right up there in terms of that and image quality. lovely images as per 🙂
That’s a great lens I think. I had their 50mm Art that I used on my Canon 6D Mk II before trading both (and other lenses) in on my current mirrorless system. It took superb images.
Nice video, Alan, a good description of the lens, and a nice selection of photos at the finish. Question, Art lens? Other companies as well as Sigma have Art lenses in their lineups, does the 'Art' destination mean anything or is it just a nice word used for marketing purposes? Cheers Alan
Hi Steve and thanks once again. It really is just a marketing tool used by Sigma to designate that 'Art' lenses are their premium range rather like Sony with their 'G Master' or Canon with their 'L' lenses.
Nice to see you Alan, the images are great but no “history channel segment” and only a six minute video, I think it’s time that you got a Dexter to help you with the production of the show🤣 Be well and stay safe.
Nick keeps offering me the hire of Dexter, but his agent wants exorbitant fees! Yes it's a pretty short video this week, normal service resumes next time 😉
Nice images, a worthy addition to your arsenal.
Thank you Clare, it is a very useable little lens especially on the Pen F. Great to hear from you!

Thanks Brian, it's a little belter of a lens for portrait work and although I no longer do them, it's also great for my urban stuff.

Yes indeed Nick, earlier 80s/90s Sigma offerings left a lot to be desired but they have got their act together now.

Thanks TC, much appreciated
