- As Michigander, Jason Singer is a nationally known artist with glowing press features and millions of streams globally. His 2016 single "Nineties" gave him a huge boost and helped Michigander crack 1 million streams on Spotify. Before COVID-19, he was confirmed at major festivals including Electric Forrest, Lollapalooza and Firefly. His band includes drummer Aaron Senor, guitarist Jake LeMond and bassist Connor Robertson; creating the Indie pop, singer/songwriter sound that Michigander is know for.

Michigander is a phenomenal band from the Midwest that should be listened to by any fan of indie music. There is meaningful space in their music that lets the listener rest in a pocket of 80s influenced indie vibes. I was introduced to the band through Manchester Orchestra and I am now following Michigander just as closely. Jason and crew are sure leave their mark on the indie music scene for the foreseeable future. Much Love - from a big fan!

Michigander is an apt name because they set aside the Detroit influences that dominate our local music. Do not nick Motown, Iggy Pop, Mc5, White Stripes or Derek Mays. Central and western Michigan is now getting its own sound. Band has some cosmopolitan influences but do not sound blatantly derivative of anyone. I believe they were just about to come of age when COVID hit and need to overcome that jinx. Now they are going to support Manchester Orchestra on their latest tour and that should be their chance to break big (or "bigger"). Very energetic and enthusiastic live act, I wish them well.
