    Looked like some great resupply items - some nice variety and healthy options in there! Those "That's It" bars are new to me - they look like a great clean way to get in some fruits and probiotics. Great to see how supportive the trail community is out there.

      The "That's It" bars are really good but only 100 calories... it's still nice to get some healthy foods, though!

    Lime, chilli and shrimp flavoured ramen is my absolute favourite and I try and have it all throughout my hike 👍

    Greater than 500 miles hiked, over snowy summits, rocky terrain, mud, slush, ice, precarious cliffs, and Kevin breaks his ankle in the parking lot of a Holiday Inn Express 😁

    I’m so weird because I love to see hiker’s resupply! Doesn’t look like much food to me! I bet the food in town tastes amazing after being on the trail for a few days! No breakfast burritos for Leah this time! 😩

      How much do you think that round of food weighs? Look forward to hearing if the probiotic smoothies are a nice addition!

    • @kevinandleah1221
      @kevinandleah1221 Před rokem

      The smoothies were ok... I think they would have been kind of gross if it were hotter out. Not sure if they were really worth the weight, but I was trying to get some healthier options 😁

      Town food is like Heaven! Especially after a big stretch! We both actually bought too much because we still had a bunch left over.

    Finally caught up. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Sierra's go, but I'm guessing there will have to be a lot of detouring.
    Something that I think would make a good zero day video would be showing everything (non-tech) that is in your bag.

    Thanks for all your amazing videos. Love to follow you two. Leah: I would like to know how you take care of your feet, if you have a daily routine or something else to prevent blisters and the skin on the feet to get hard?

    • @kevinandleah1221
      @kevinandleah1221 Před rokem +1

      Thank you!!! The only real foot "routine" I have is just to wash them every night before climbing into bed. Kevin and I both wear Injinji toe socks to prevent blisters. I've also heard of people putting Vaseline on their feet every morning, but I haven't tried that yet. 😁

    • @maja_on_the_trail
      @maja_on_the_trail Před rokem

      I must try those injini socks, because I have a toe where I easily get blisters. By the way I love your content in the videos and keep on doing what you do. Next year it's my turn, but for know I enjoy you guys and the Codgers and try to learns as much as I can about the trail, resupply, campgrounds, life on the trail and so on. Happy trails to you❤️

      So far, we haven't been in any areas where bears are an issue, so we have just been using the OpSak odorless bags. But further north, we will be using bear cans where they are required or hanging our food in our Zpacks food bags 😁

    Sierra’s are going to be sketchy for another month or two. Water crossings will be super fast and super deep.

    I’ve really enjoyed following your trek. You guys do a great job! Kudos. But, I’m curious to know what your trail names are and how they came about. I just presume you must have them by now considering you have already hiked the AT. Please divulge. 😊

    • @kevinandleah1221
      @kevinandleah1221 Před rokem +2

      Thank you very much!!!
      We did have trail names on the AT... I was Azaleah, and Kevin was Zen. We started the PCT not knowing if we'd keep them for this trail, but since we were hiking with 511 (he hiked with us on the ATas well) and he would call us Zen and Azaleah we thought "ok, we'll keep them"
      But when 511 got off trail after 100 miles, we went back to thinking, "New trail, new names!" So Kevin has yet to receive a new one he likes, I have recently received the name Pickles 😁
