If you look closely, you will actually notice the bottom row of diamonds show up more vividly on the dark tresses of Catherine than they did on Diana's golden layered hair style. Could it be possible that one may experience more facet reflection on Williams wife than when his mother wore it?

The diamonds were not a replacement for the pearls ,they were part of the tiara when the pearl toppers were attached & if you look close enough you can see the diamonds are there between the pearl toppers! The pearl toppers were attached to the middle top of the diamond bows! Believe it or not ,the large pearl toppers are still an option although I cannot see Catherine wearing those huge pearl toppers on top of the tiara but who knows ,she’s full of suprises re the recent wearing of the Strathmore Rose tiara! 🌹
Queen Mary had the high stiff coiffure of her time, so could carry that extra topper. As hair became closer to the head, it became Too Much Tiara. It resembled a crown with the pearls attached.
The lovers knot was distributed to Catherine and standardly is a lifetime loan. We shouldn't see others wearing it for that reason. Standardly the Dutchess of Cambridge or Princess of Wales only wear's.
