- How to Fix MIUI themes "compatibility issues" error.
"Compatibility issues" error occurs when you try to apply/download a theme that is not compatible with the MIUI version installed on your phone. In such a case, you CAN apply a theme, but this theme won't take effect completely. Only a few UI elements will change as per theme, not all.
In this video, I have shown how you can fix this "compatibility issues" error on MIUI devices when you're trying to download/apply your favourite theme.

Hi everyone, on newer MIUI builds, this trick seems to FAIL. Many users reported that the theme reverts back after an hour or so. This happens with the themes that are applied through MIUI Theme Editor app. It's not my fault. It's actually Xiaomi trying it's best to make sure that users download themes from theme store only.

Is your phone rooted? Cuz as far as I know, themes is a system app and cannot be deleted without root/adb

When i open theme editor app, it doesn't show me the themes. There's is only one pre loaded theme.
Try clearing app cache or rebooting your phone. Check if there's any update available for the app
Do you know how to apply theme to google dial/message. I used theme R.O.G it supported but doesn't apply dial pad and messages. Settings control panel all are ok only with dial pad and messages. How to solve that?
As far as I know, not all themes apply to all apps. It depends on a theme if it support third party apps or not. If a theme is limited to mod system apps or system UI only, there's no workaround to make it apply to non-assigned apps unless you're a theme designer yourself.
It gives me the same issue rather even when I change the UI version to 13 (I'm on MIUI 13). I tried 12 as well. Is there a different UI naming for weekly builds? In build props, it tells me my UI version is 13
I'm not sure about weekly builds, mate. But if it says 13 in buildprops, it must be it. Maybe try another theme to check if it works.
@@TechEyeAndroid it still gives the compatibility error but that could just be because I'm on a mixed ROM (built on both Global and China MIUI). Settings seems to be staying longer. Before, it would revert back to default after a use or two.
Mtz theme apply for temporary. Can you fix permanent

i applied a new downloaded theme on my redmi 9i sport edition. Bt after that the themes nd wallpaper are not opening. Can you pls help me out
Long press the themes icon and tap 'App Info'. Then clear app cache and data. Keep in mind that clearing app data will remove all your saved/downloaded themes and wallpapers. Alternatively, you can check if rebooting your device helps.

Try rebooting your phone. If there's no compatibility issue, meaning if this theme supports your MIUI version, rebooting could help.

Clear the themes app cache and redo the procedure. With every update, they make it even harder for such tricks to work.

So meaning the theme we downloaded will become an Mtz file right ? So the theme when applied its not permanent. In few minutes it will change back to original phone theme. Am i right? Or will it be permanent?

I'm sorry it didn't work for you. Many users have been reporting that the applied theme doesn't persist for more than one hour. It's probably because Xiaomi doesn't want us to use themes that are distributed from somewhere else than it's own theme store 😐

Restart the Themes editor app and check if it works.
My downloaded theme is not showing in miui theme editor app
Close the app and try again. If that doesn't help try clearing app (theme editor) cache.
For those who are facing "theme-not-showing-in-theme-editor-app" issue, try:

You can, but you will no longer be able to reapply it in case it resets or you try a different theme

Try KittyV2 theme. If you don’t like the theme and just want to keep the status bar, go to Themes app>My account>customise Theme>Status bar and select this theme.
But bro mtz files are applying for 1-2 hours
On newer MIUI version, third party themes gets reset after 1-2 hrs or after you reboot your phone. But this trick works flawlessly on older version of MIUI and custom MIUI ROMs such as xiaomi.eu.
For me when it shows "animated" or "video" when I apply it it doesn't move. Please help🙏

Check if you have enabled the option to change file name and directory on that same page. If you haven't, you won't be able to change theme's name.

My problem is messaging app and call app is not affected by the themes what should i do?
If your phone has Google Phone and messages installed, then a theme will mostly likely not be applied to these apps. Themes are better compatible with Xiaomi's own Dialer and Messages apps.
@@TechEyeAndroid problem is I cant install xiaomi messenger no matter what. Its my first time owning miui phones so i am still noob, its so different on what samsung offers.
Actually due to government restrictions in some countries/region, xiaomi can't use it's own (chinese) apps like the dialer and messages like in EU region. You can not simply install Xiaomi's dialer or messages app even if you download their respective APKs from sites like apkmirror. The only way is root your phone or switch to xiaomi.eu's MIUI ROM or MIUI China or India

If your phone has google's dialer, message and contact apps, theme won't change their icon because usually themes change icon of xiaomi dialer, message and contact apps.

@@alimardan9346 Unfortunately you can't install Xiaomi dialer (with the green phone icon) or messages if Google Dialer and messages has come preinstalled on your phone. If you flash a MIUI ROM that has MIUI dialer, you can get it then. Though, you can install other xiaomi apps that you can find on apkmirror.com

I downloaded a theme called one miui by agung graphics and i did the trick and imported the mtx and it failed

SOLUTION - uninstall mi message app update and re-apply theme. It won't show compatibility issue anymore.
