- Hello and welcome to a video unpacking everything I know about the work permit in Thailand. If you want to work legally in Thailand you are going to need to get a work permit if you are not a Thai citizen. The work permit is a legal document that states a foreigner’s position, current occupation, or job description and the Thai company he is working with. It also serves as a license to perform a job or an occupation allowed for foreigners inside Thailand.
So having a reasonable understanding of the work permit is essential for those wishing to work in Thailand, I hope this video helps.

I qualify for a Thai marriage visa which allows to application for a work permit. However, I own a U.S. company and work remotely for my own business. So, it's not a Thai company. But, I'm told that if I do work for my own company (even though the company is outside of Thailand and no business is done inside Thailand) while physically in Thailand, I have to have a work permit. What options do I have other than starting a new Thai company (which costs a lot of money)? I am a sole propieter of my business which exists only in the U.S. and does business only in the U.S. Any suggestions?
when it says work in thailand, does that mean on your own business? or does that mean to work IN thailand for someone else? like if we have online businesses and we are traveling through can we not work on our own business as normal?

@@LasseInSurin i think you can only do like a like tourist visa and then re-enter a few times which kinda sucks
@@maxkingsproductionhut I'm living in Thailand and have a marriage visa which means I'm allowed to get a work permit. But when looking ar the application form for a work permit it seems like you must be employed by a Thai company.

Hi, you say in order to set up a business you need a Non Immigrant visa but if I'm correct from watching this video you don't specify which type on Non Immigrant visa allows you to seek work. I would also be looking to work as a freelance photographer there and so would not be able to get any letters from employees. Thus unable to meet that demand as discussed here. So is there a Non Immigrant visa for those wishing to be freelance seeking work? Any thoughts and appreciate your time and videos. Thanks

This is funny, no one would employ you without a work permit, you need to be employed to get a work permit!!! It's the same almost everywhere
