“‘We Come To Ruins’ is the second single from our upcoming album. This song shows SIRENIA from a heavier side, although it is a very dynamic song with many changes in both atmosphere and intensity. It is probably a more "typical" SIRENIA song than our first single, but still with a modern approach.”

@@franoliveira6686 Pô eu tbm gosto muito da Aylin, mas tem uns álbuns com ela muito fracos tbm , o The Enigma Of Life é bem fraquinho , já a atual vocalista tem uns álbuns por enquanto regulares , apesar desse último não ser tão bom assim igual ao anterior que é muito bom .

It's interesting watching comments for new Sirenia tracks. First one they released is really a hard rock track (which the oldtime Sirenia fans mistakenly called pop and disliked) and now when Sirenia release something much heavier/more brutal the oldtime Sirenia fans are happy while some of their newer fans (who don't like growls, who wish for a melodic symphonic sound in the style of Within Temptation and Edenbridge) may think this is too heavy and not melodic enough. You can't please everyone. Personally I am not that keen on either of the tracks, they are ok but neither one has what I am really looking for and what Sirenia has given in the past, a driving good melody that does not drown in industrial sounds / instrumentation, and which has symphonic choirs and Emma's operatic voice (I am thinking 'Goddess of the Sea' style Sirenia). I do hope there will be a few songs in that Sirenia-style on the coming album.
You're right, the problem is not the musical genre but its quality. The song is a bit better than the first single but without impressing. I'm not a fan of growls in Symphonic Metal but used properly it can add contrast to the song (ex Epica - Abyss of Time). It's a matter of orchestration not sound evolution or genre change. Within Temptation changed the musical style on each album but they kept elements characteristic of this band
Short words, nowadays its impossible to make everybody happy people getting strange.

For Goth-Symphonic diehards like me this seems to tick all the right boxes but it doesn't linger in the memory lke it should. Pity really, but I think SIRENIA's glory days are behind them. They're never going to top the sheer brilliance of The 13th Floor and Dim Days of Dolor.

Great song. Loved early Tristania and Sirenia. Haven't been listening for a decade but this was really good.
Anyone else miss the Sirenian choir not gonna lie i think this song missed it but i really enjoyed it, makes me think a little of perils of the deep blue, (fave album) 2 min mark was awesome, 3 min mark was beautiful. And i really wanted more.

I feel disappointed every time I hear Sirenia now. They used to be one of my favourite bands, indeed At Sixes and Sevens is in my top 10 albums of all time. I love everything about that album. I did a compilation of Sirenia the other day, all their best songs, and even though I own everything they have done, the only songs on the list were from At Sixes and Sevens, with the addition of Lithium, Elixir and Sons of the North.
I may be stuck in their past, but they just arent heavy enough anymore. Its a shame, for me, because I think Morten is immensely talented, his growls are perfect, his guitar tone is superb, and her can write brilliant rhythms, melodies and song structures.

That has to be YT's audio compression. I can't imagine they make a muddy mix just for youtube.
@@jonl.b7168 IDK, other band's stuff doesn't sound as different to the album version as I've heard with Sirenia. Often times, it's a different cut of the track here. The first time i noticed it was Seven Widows Weep, then other tracks since then.

yeah, me to... but they couldn't arecord the choir because of situation with covid :-/ I asked Emma. She was kind to answer me that sirenian choir is not on this album due covid pandemy... and I totally understand it is hard time for musicians. I am happy they were able to release new songs anyway. This song sounds amazing.... I miss the choir in this song too... I even feel where it would be added. But it doesnt matter :) enjoy new music anyway

@@genomcyber7731 The choir is always recorded in France, and due to the covid restrictions Morten couldn’t travel to France to arrange the choir recordings there. Emma was able to travel to Norway to record her vocals though. But I guess it was too expensive to bring the other choir vocalists to Norway, too. Originally Morten planned to release the album in fall 2020, but in 2020 it was completely impossible to travel at all. I’m sure the choir will be back on the next album, if the situation around covid allows it.
@@patrykk5756 Epica was very lucky, as the orchestra, choir and children’s choir were all recorded just before the covid situation. They only had to record the vocals by then. Hence why Simone couldn’t travel to The Netherlands and had to find a studio in Germany, since she lives there. Same with Mark, he recorded his vocals at his home in Sicily.

Well, now we're talking) In my opinion better the addiction№1, much heavier, instruments are much more interesting in this one. A really good song overall, you guys did great on this one!
It can be heavier, darker for the perfect (for me) Sirenia sound. I will always dream for the miracle song like Lithium and Lover with Emma. Overall this song is a good step in the right direction and like it. :)

Great track! I really like it, but I it really reminds the old sirenia with Ailyn, who had too high pitch for me. Emmanuelle has awesome timbre, I really loved her verses in 'Into the nigth'. I'd love to hear more of her low ranges, she sounds really cool and fresh.

I have to admit, for me this song has a bit of that "acquired taste" thing ... The first time i heard it, didn't seem much of it. Then i listened it a couple more times ... looked like it sounded better. Then at some point i actually came to like the sound, perceive all the nuances and the depth. Anyway, my point is, some songs require several auditions to finally appreciate them. Looking forward for the rest of the album :)
