With the release of the NXR II, comes the slogan “the evolution of perfection”. Shoei constantly thrives to evolve and put the finest products on the market. With the NXR 2, the most advanced techniques and technology have been incorporated. The best features of the helmet are a new wind channel system, the wide range of patented materials, and the strict quality assurance practices.
The Shoei NXR II, also known as the RF-1400 in the United States, has significantly improved aerodynamics and noise reduction. Shoei establishes this by fine-tuning their wind channels system. The NXR2 is shaped to reduce wind resistance, putting less pressure on the head and neck.
The wind channels are renewed for improved ventilation and noise reduction. With Shoei helmets already having the most silent helmets, the new NXR II is a true game changer.
The helmet is also improved when it comes to safety. The interior has improved shock absorption and shock distribution. Strange question but does anyone know what helmet sizes Marc and Alex Marquez are wearing in the video?

I had to chuckle. Even Marc Marquez struggled a bit to pop the face shield.
As understand outer shell is a little bigger than original compact design NXR, so now NXR2 and K6 same outer shell size. How Shoei could improved aerodynamics if they have made outer shell bigger ? Hardly to believe in this. NXR2 should try hard to have same success on market like predecessor NXR. Shoei should put same price allready on start of sale, another way NXR is better choice I think.
We must keep in mind the bigger shell size + slightly increased weight of around ~100 grams is because the NXR 2 complies with ECE 22.06, which is a much better, and stricter, requirement for safety. I'd take the improved safety any day. Also as a side note, subjectively I like how the NXR 2 looks a bit better than the NXR.
@@Sage_Lucas maybe it is safer, but Shoei should prove that they improved aerodynamics.. for now it is hard to believe that bigger outer shell + which weight more has better aerodynamics. Really ? Still think NXR hard to beat and it stays one of the best helmets on market.

Shoei needs to start making helmets designed for us round heads again...my only option is Arai.
