You know you're ocd when you're detailing the inside of a bell housing 😂
Great video as usual!
Your attention to details is mind-boggling...just remarkable. Mad respect for all your hard work!
You’re restoring that E30 from the ground up, this thing is going to be MINT!!
Great project, nice seeing a fellow guy restoring his car with the same eye for detail as me!
Keep up the great job.
You do amazing work. I’ve seen other restoration videos, but u do way nicer job than the others I’ve seen.
I've just watched all 7 episodes and can't wait for the next!!!
Great job absolutely inspiring!
Nice going so far Restore It. Remember, drinking plenty of water is key when living in a free oven.
Been waiting all week for your videos! Always enjoy watching them. Great restoration by the way.
Thanks Malcom. Sorry it was late. My postal situation at the moment in Spain is bad. Everything should be back to normal this week :)
Best videos ever! I'm buying tools slowly as I see you using them! Addicted 😀!! Busy with my car, small bits of restoration. Thanks for inspiration guy!
I wait everyday for a new video to come out. You do amazing work thank you for sharing your project!
I wonder how many gallons of paint are gonna be on this car. The cost of all the materials must be astronomical!
DoctahWhoopass He hand restored most of the parts so he saved a lot
Idk if this is a roast or not but if it makes him happy and it’s worth it to him that’s all that matters
@@gus6rocks all for that CZcams money while getting a nicely rebuilt car
I've got to say, this is taking car detailing to a whole other level...
Please say when please please pretty please with sugar on please. I need more on lockdown.
Thursday all going to plan! Plus u have half a terabyte of e30 m3 footage to edit!
It's crazy how much I look forward to each new installment in this series! Please, do keep them coming.
Thank you Gary! Loads more to come and I promise you they'll get more frequent.
Can't wait to see the assembly. Good job!
I love your videos. I like that it breaks down the process in detail, it gives me a lot of confidence on doing my own restoration project!
The mother of all restorations! Others are restoring little toys and tool, but this is Whole freaking car. Cheers mate!
You inspired me to renovate my e30 4 door sedan. So far i got the exterior done and painted it looks clean and i replaced the broken interior parts with my limited money (im 16 years old 0and preparing the car in 2 years xd) however i dont think i can restore the engine by my self i dont have many tools and experience but im planning to change the sparkplugs and gas pump by myself thank you for inspirating me love you from turkey.
Hell yeah Cem. Love this comment. You sound just like me when I was around your age. Glad I have been apart of your E30 renovation. Keep going and you'll have a mint E30 with the experience to do others and make a living from it :D Cheers dude.
Man so many work on gear box you should replace the orings sealing in front and back on output shaft and on switch small one. I own coupe IS and I have done all this. Take my advice. Thanks for your work.
Cheers W K. I will look into getting these parts and repalce them in a future episode for sure.
I have been watching your channel for a long time and I admire you for perseverance and the enormity of work you put into this project. Greetings from Poland.
Thank you Trancer. Thanks for sticking around and leaving such a nice comment.
This is the one channel that as soon as I watch the new video, I always check to see if I’ve somehow missed a new episode in between - but alas I’m always disappointed to find I’ve actually seen them all and will just have to wait patiently for more new content. I might have to binge re-watch all the vids again after the whole car is done.
I have watched several videos from this guy and he's amazing work, I cannot freaking understand why people would post negative likes on his procedure and work ,you got to be a freaking moron to dislike this guy's work, you bunch of idiots out there ,this guy's giving you a schooling on how to restore parts and car, thank you for the videos, excellent work keep it up,
You absolutely right its not perfect . IT'S SUPER PERFECT.
I've watched every video from the E30 restoration and couldn't be more excited for the finished car. Great Job!
@@RestoreIt Thank you for sharing this awesome journey with us! The E30 is one of my most favourite cars, especially as i live in Munich, where it was built :)
Good job man we looking forward buddy
Wow, you are doing an amazing job. It is so satisfying to watch, I'm sure it is much more satisfying to you to see this all come together. Keep it up, it is a lot of time and work but it will be well worth it when it is done.
Absolutely jealous (the good kind of jealous). You’re living the restoration dream. Great, great work. Wish I had the time and the body to tackle this level of work…because I sure as hell wouldn’t want any help. 😂
Nothing beautiful like a freshly painted gearbox.
Cannot wait for the next video upload, thumbs up on this restoration.
These are great!
Your new clutch pressure plate is covered in preservation lube to prevent rusting. Dont forget to wipe it off before installing.
Great vids, keep up the good work
I guess even passengers of this car would need to be washed, rust removed, sanded, prime, base and clear coated!
...btw AWESOME work! :)
Great, you are perfect restorer. 😊
Plug cap & transmission sensors Is a consumable item. We recommend replacement.
Looking good man, you always make me realize half of the stuff I avoided is easier than expected.
Awesome work as always mate! 10/10
Will Done !keep posting !
So, why are there downvotes? I mean, this channel is so niche specific and the execution of the restoration so attention-to-detailed, why would someone watch it and not like it? I mean, if it is not your thing, don’t watch it. If it is, how do you not like it?
Hi, I’ve just binged your entire library in the last 24hrs - so easy to watch you cracking on - thanks for making the content. I have to commend you on your commitment to the small details - inspiring stuff. Many thanks and regards Mic - Wales 🏴
Good job!
The bit you didn’t no how to take off on the engine wiring look, it’s the big black nut that keeps it locked down on the bracket. Can’t wait to see the end result🤘
If you get stuck with anymore and have Facebook join e30 zone, it’s a world wide e30 facebook page and you can ask people any questions. Good luck🤘
I would still recommend you to change the gearbox oil before you install the gearbox
Oh yes I will be doing that. Thanks for the reminder, I need to find out what it takes. Never simple.
@@RestoreIt If I recall correctly BMW uses ATF on their Getrag gearboxes, not sure why.
@@RestoreIt I would recommend you to directly request a suitable oil from BMW.
You just have to give them the chassis number and they will find the right oil for your gearbox.
How I love this restorations :3
Can't say it enough mate, I love the videos, makes me want to invest in a project car!
@@RestoreIt Sure looks like it, Just need to get the other half on board! (a nice workshop in sunny Spain helps as well haha)
Man, you is very genious- fron Brazil
So close! So close! So excited for you! This has been one heck of a job! I think we're looking forward to celebrating with you! I hope you plan to do a CZcams on the first ride so we can go along. Take care, my friend. Talk to you soon.
Almost there! I can't wait either Gary, and of course I will. I will go full vlog style for the occasion! Speaks soon Gary!
some people forget that new parts are sometimes damaged faster than the old ones.
Such a good balance with speeds. Good edit bro! (I’d enjoy it closer to real time as well)
Cheers Serkan. I have a third channel called East Coast Restoratons you are going to love. A lot of real time footage on those videos. Coming soon!
Nice and tidy like it keep it on
When I see your videos, I don't need that kind of medicine :D
Dude it looks great, it's too hot in Spain for me bro but I'm glad you dig it.
1:00 - LOL, yeah it is another pace of life down there. We could learn something from that uphere in Northern Europe. Great job btw. 😊
It truly is. Maybe they could learn something from each other, Take abit from both haha.
@@RestoreIt Haha yeah, it might be a bit overkill to have a four hour siesta uphere, although it would be nice sometimes. :)
Красавец! Отличная работа! Приятно смотреть!
Just found this. I am definitely going to bing watch all past e30 episodes
Damn you came so long i cant believe this thing is almost done. These videos are amazing
It's all I've done for the last month or so! haha I can't wait to get it all back together. Thanks Dude.
@@RestoreIt totally i cant wait either that car is gonna look and be amazing
Next full engine build, you should spray each component a different bright colour, emphasise the level of detail you've gone to! Pink, yellow, purple, blue, orange, red would be sick!
That is a seriously lovely finish on the gearbox. You almost need a special window in the transmission tunnel just to look at it.
Nice video
Congratulations
Howdy from the United states of America, love the channel 🇺🇸🤙
I think your training to become a jedi! much patience you have.
I dream of that day... when il be old in a chair. And he will upload video. "Its finaly done, masterpice!" :D gr8 Video
@Restore It He will definately fininsh it in time with the current amount of effort. Great work!
One thing you absolutely should do is change the gearbox oil, because going threw everything, painting everything and not changing the gearbox oil would be insanely stupid
Who said he was going to throw everything?, going through everything only to throw it away is stupid.
@@ZVONIMIR172 What has that got to do with the price of fish? ie nothing. Where are your videos so we can criticize you and tell you to do something?.
Good job. Saya tak sabar untuk lihat hasil nya...
I am looking forward to seeing this car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah another video 👍👌 get in...
make sure you replace the gear selector and output shaft seal as they tend to leak these now so would be silly not to do it.
And its a pain in these ass to do it when the gearbox is in the car. Absolutely not speaking out of experience with my E34 xD
Great video series mate, I am really enjoying watching them. I was thinking during the previous videos about how nice it would be if you plated some of the hardware that could not be painted so it is good to see you are getting a plating kit.
Thanks Stephen! I have a kit already, I have just abused it learning how to plate with it. Can't wait for the fresh one!
More videos, please! I am curious for the next one!
I love it from Soni’s Garage
That gearbox came out amazing... The prep work and masking up you put into it paid off. Please as other say though make sure you do the required mechanicals, oil, shifter, release bearing etc. No good looking shiny but being mechanically weak. Good work
I'm listening to Sinatra and watching this, it's relaxing at it's finest
Spain is on holiday, that's what I love about it, they love resting for example their evening siestas lol
muy buen diria buenos videos y que gran paciencia para toda la limpeza.
Looking good. I see in one of your comments you are getting new seals for the gearbox... they cheap and removing the gearbox is a pain so better to do them now. As for replacing anything inside the gearbox... if shifting is still smooth... doubt you need to do anything on the inside, but you can change the oil anyway. Never know what might have happened while in the previous owner's care and you can look for any big metal particles/bits which might indicate a problem. You can do the same check with the diff.
Although I'm quite jealous of you being able to do this, I really want to see it done. Great work.
Can't wait to see it in the car
Long way to go before we see this engine in the coupe. But soon there will be a video of an engine, going to the touring. It's kind of restored, just not to this level.
Soy de audi pero me tienes enganchado a este viejo bmw 👍
Ida scraped that skid plate into a garbage can and save my solvent for more appropriate cleaning. When you put it back together get a new pressure plate, clutch, pilot bearing, throw out bearing and slave. You'll be glad you did if any of it's bad. Also, replace the rear main seal on the motor and have the flywheel professionally cut. I did transmission work and clutch work for 20 years.
*Mount the bench grinder!*

Btw. Love your videos! So much attention to detail! 😍
