Can you do it with the sd card for some reason my computer do not recognize the radio at all, I know is issues with drivers but I do not want to mess with my computer.
Yeah, just take the card out of the radio, put it in the computer, copy .bin to firmware folder, put card back in radio and pick up in the bootloader.
Is it important to update the bootloader while you're at it, or does it not really matter? Every time I've updated the firmware I've always gone in and updated the bootloader immediately afterwards.
It's not wrong to update the bootloader, but it's not strictly necessary either. I think until just recently I was on 2.6 and I've flashed a metric ton of firmwares for testing.

I haven't updated my sd card contents since about 2.6.

@@RCVideoReviews Just my obesssion with keeping the bootloader and firmware on the same version I guess….
If there were any practical requirement to do it, I would have shown it. As you saw in the video, live, the bootloader I had worked just fine.
