Here is Day 6 of our Scottish trip! đŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó ż
This day was cracking, so good I've split it into 2 parts.
The day started with a SUPER early alarm clock in the form of a VERY loud family above us, teamed with the paper thin walls at the Glenavon in the Cairngorms!
We then rode to the Tea at the Shee where Mike discovered a cracked screen on the GoPro.
Nightmare!!!!!

We have just watched your 5 day trip on the NC500. My wife and I did this in June last year on a new K1600 GTL. You showed so many places we went to and so many happy memories.
Even the boat trip at Ullapool with the extremely knowledgeable guide on the boat. Sorry your review of the in Kinlockbervie wasn't brilliant. We thought the hotel was a bit tired but the food was lovely. Keep up the good work. Chris & Helen

When on the side stand on your bikes, turn the bars away from you as you take it off the side stand. You should find it easier to push up.

Another lovely video, used to ski the Lecht and Glenshee in my younger days đ the road and scenery from Tomintoul to Coatbridge is fabulous in whichever direction you travel. Thatâs a shame about the lens getting cracked.

Lovin this NC500 series of vlogs. Great to see you riding in my backyard too...I live up in Forres so often ride down through Grantown to Tomintoul and over the Lecht..stunning! Always stopped at the Firestation Cafe at Tomintoul for a brew and bacon buttie but sadly its closed. Have to find somewhere else for this year.
Oh no! It's a shame when good places close! If you find a good replacement, you'll have to report back đđ
I really enjoyed this trip with great roads and beautiful scenic views at every turn, and the beautiful hum from the GS's, and some great shots on the photo shoot mid way. So sad to see the cracked lens at the end.đ

Brilliant to see that road on film, there is a loop from my place that only takes a couple hours where Braemar is half way, they have an ice cream shop there that sometimes do whisky ice cream, right across from the chip shop. Loving the easy commentary, and the atchoos lol. Your making me realise how lucky we are here. Its easy to take it all for granted when you live here.
Oooh no way! If they do an Irish liqueur type whiskey, you may have my attention đ yeah, you are super super lucky to have the roads you have. Absolutely insane đ€đŒ

Local roads for me Kate, we are blessed around here The Lecht is a stunning road on a bike but Glenshee and Glen Isla are even better. It's snowing heavily here so hopefully some skiing and Tee at the Shee in the next couple of days.
Wow! Love the fact you can just go skiing â· whenever it snows! Take care in this storm!! We've got wheelie bins flying around and trees collapsing here!

Awesome video and you were right on my doorstep ride Glenshee often. But I hate to say it but itâs not easy to get great accommodations in Scotland simply the best that are at a decent price disappear quickly I usually grade my hotels on how great the showers are đđđđđđŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó żđŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó żđŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó żđŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó ż

I donât like being the lead Iâm always checking my mirrors to look where the other person is. You guys make a good team Mike has an eye for good photos you can hold the camera nice and steady and donât seem like the gals I know who take five minutes to take a picture. Iâm a bit surprised you didnât get a shot of the bikes on the bridge. Your subtle senses of humor đ.

This trip was probably substantially better weather than we're getting just now not just in Scotland but the whole of the UK is affected by storm force winds and snow. Catering was a bit of a disappointment, which has no doubt been affected by various lockdowns and lack of staff. Nice to get a coffee at Tea @ the Shee. Look forward to the next part assuming you have the cracked lens fixed....
Hey John! Disappointing news I'm afraid! We didn't have a spare len as we didn't think it was interchangeable (like the previous generation of go pro) so it's cracked lens onwards on the vlogs :( however, it's not too bad which im grateful for! Yea, this was filmed back in July. The weather is horrid today đ thanks for your comment John đ

In a group I used to be fastest ( I don't do road anymore) but the tail end was always best place to be. No leading others into trouble. Hang back and catch up!

Done the same roads last year and lovely to ride on. As for service and accommodation I Scotland over the covid period it hasn't been as good as on previous years. Think this is down to having a captive supply of holiday makers but this is soon going to end and a lot of people won't go back after being ripped off which is sad for the good people up north
Yep it's defo a shame! I'm sure that the roads alone will be enough to coax people back †hopefully!
Great video. I like your extemporaneous commentary and stories. Also your accent. Also a woman on a bike. Been on these roads! That area of Scotland and the northwest are like two different continents.

I am married to the BMW dealer who sold me my first BMW, in 1973. No, i am not a woman. She is. She was also a pilot. She was five other things too incl several academic degrees. But now we are 75 and 74 and I have a 2018 GSA in America and a T700 Tenere in France and she wants very little of either anymore. She grew up, apparently. Now Iâm alone. I need to ride more than I need to be with her to the exclusion of riding. Sheâs okay with that. Iâm away a lot-never not wishing she were with me to share the adventure of the constant thrill and revelation of passage making on a motorcycle, but resigned to it. Iâm not sure how I feel about either of our decisions! Life is complex.

Another entertaining vlog, really enjoyable. It was a shame about the cracked camera,i would blame Mike if I was you as, it was obviously his fault for for flicking grit up. Perhaps it's not always a good idea to a follower? As for the noisy people in the hotel, I had a similar experience in a place in Fort William, the couple in the room next to me were shall we say 'entertaining' each other! Fortunately it didn't last long. Lol đ€Ł. As least you didn't get that!

Kate can you please tell me what seat is this? Aftermarket? It looks so comfy. They say flat seats are the best option. I have pain in tailbone that is why I'm asking. I tried already aftermarket one. Didn't do it for me. Now I'm waiting for costum solution and at the same time already looking for otherways ... Thank you.
The seat on the 1200 is a standard seat and the seat on the 1250 is a heated seat. A genuine BMW heated seat cannot be retro fitted though. Hope this helps!

All of your videos have really good sound..Do you run your mic into the mic adaptor or media mod, then change the batteries every hour?
Yea, I use a purple panda lapel mic plugged into a media mod and I have lots of spare batteries and SD cards handy đ

Trade the GoPro housing for a GoPro Puluz brand aluminium housing with UV filter. You'll get better video and lens protection. You can also swap the Puluz UV filter for an Unbreakable UV filter!

I have to ask, how come you and Mike don't use communicators? In fact, that would be an awesomely useful video (or series) where you can compare different budget units, such as the Lexin ET and the Fodsports M1S Pro. Most of the other channels use the Cardo or Senna units, but you tour like me an me mate; just 2 of you needing to discuss where you are heading so the expensive units are overkill, but a pair for of bluetooth units for ÂŁ80? That would be great to see, because there are so few reviews of the cheap units (even fewer if you want them in English) and you and Mike could get lost much easily together. Just a question and an idea. Love your videos.
Haha, it's a good idea! We don't use comms because he thinks I chat rubbish and it drives him insane hahahahhaa we do both have cardos which we will be using more this year but I'm certainly not against the idea of getting some cheapo ones to see if they're any good! Thanks Arry!

This trip was back in July but working a full time hectic job, I never had the time to edit the Scotland trip. Now I can đ yeah my preference are the bigger bikes but will never turn down the offer to ride any size bike, its all a laugh đ
Now we'll all be looking out for a shitty comment about the video from the owners of that hotel.
