I think with Suicune and it's paradox form brings up the idea of that Hoho much like the phoenix always brings back the same idea of its guardians but uses a different base pokemon. So for all we know theres 3 prehistoric versions of those pokemon and the newest iteration of them is a Hoho essence infused Spearo and 3 eeveelutions as the newest guardians.
Hearing that Mikey practices eloquently worded tyraids to try and be like Brennen Lee Mulligan is the cutest thing I've heard all day 🥰
(11:00) That is a good theory, but I think the real reason to why Violet sold more is because people preferred Miraidon over Koraidon, Ceruledge over Armarouge, and/or Turo over Sada and also because before the games released, many people didn’t look at the new Pokémon so they didn’t know about the Paradox forms yet. I also think that people though maybe it was time to choose the second game instead of the first. Example: People normally prefer Red over Blue, and you normally say Pokemon Red and Blue, not Blue and Red.

I 100% agree with this. I tend to prefer the first of the two games when mentioning them together like red over blue, ruby over sapphire, etc so that’s why I prefer scarlet. However, I do enjoy shiny hunting and riding around in Violet better because of the design of Miraidon.

@@kamou8499, for me it was the opposite, I've heard many more people wanting Violet and getting Violet.
For me, it was all that, plus the fact that I'd much rather be forced into wearing purple clothes over scarlet/orange. XD
Also, the biggest deciding factor for me when choosing which game to start with is the version exclusive Pokemon that I can use on my in-game playthrough team, and the majority of the Paradox Pokemon are locked to the post-game (as the only one that's feasible to use is the ex-Titan Great Tusk/Iron Treads), so for me, the designs of the Paradox Pokemon didn't really matter as much.
5:09 I honestly think that the reason we know so little about what the beasts were beforehand was because of how much of a ruckus it would cause if there are ancient pokemon that still exist(fossils needed to be revived) and when they died Ho-oh just changed them to something more accustomed to the modern world
5:02 My theory is that the "paradox" is just suicine sent to the past (Like the main character in hisui that was pulled from modern day sinnoh) and that suicune was in a loop of the past untill the machine that pulled the other paradoxes from the past, out pulled the suicune out of the loop and it aged in the loop so it looked like more dino like from age. “You really ruined my whole childhood, you know” to Terapagos fits because Terapagos is the Disk Pokemon that influenced Sada/Turo to want to bring Ancient/Future Pokemon to the present day. Them researching this and not spending time with Arven is what ruined his childhood, though the one who made them think that way was Terapagos.

After completing the story, I basically came up with my own little DLC storyline that is meant to be the true finale to these games. As you can imagine, it basically goes back to Terapagos and the Professors.

I got Violet solely because you ride of Miraidon instead of Koraidon. You can always get any of the scarlet paradox pokemon or game exclusives through trade, but you can't change your ride pokemon no matter what you do.

Walking wake=the ancestor to the pokemon that died in the tower, when Ho-oh revived it, it made it more like its ancestor to have a higher shot at survival. I'm just so happy at least one meme mentions this
Ho-oh’s resurrection of the three mysterious Pokémon works the same way as mega evolution for aerodactyl and salamence does. All three Pokémon come from the same common ancestors and ho-oh awakened different parts of their genetics for what suited them in modern day the best

My theory for the past Paradox forms is that they are not ancestors of modern pokemon, but in fact pokemon from a alternate timeline where the pokemon evolved to be more primal looking.
And the time machine is in fact some sort of a inter timeline gateway.

My theory for Violet being more popular is that Miraidon gives a better first impression. When I first saw Miraidon, it looked like a sick robot lizard, but Koraidon was just a dinosaur with a tube on its neck. More recently, though, I have come to like Koraidon more.
I want Violet because I like the legend on Violet better and I love the robot aesthetic of the future paradoxes. Iron Valiant is what I need
I personally like Koraidon more but it's kind of weird that he has wheels on his body but never uses them unlike Koraidon who actually uses them and has a boost.
The irony is that I picked violet because my brother wanted to get Scarlet, and I was fairly indifferent so picked the opposite.

I got violet because my friend and I wanted to both get them so we got the opposite, she got scarlet and I got violet, she then left that game bc she didn’t like it and I was stuck with some goofy robot, while I like the uniform colors and the robot itself I rather have the past pokemon then the machine ones bc they look more badass lmao, I’m still sorta salty how I chose violet lmao.

Perhaps both sets of paradox Pokémon are from alternative futures, or even the same one but different locations/regions.
Perhaps people made robot Pokémon to replace ones that went extinct, and others created clones of extinct and or endangered Pokémon, and or geneticly altered Pokémon in some way attempting to recreate the mewtwo experiment.
For the theory on why Violet sold more, I just got it because I genuinely liked the Paradox designs.
I love this series as it keeps me sane unlike others.

4:36 I remember I played a pokemon game on the Gameboy, don't know which one but I do remember I would always catch a Zigzagoon in the same route because I didn't know how to save.
That theory on the Violet game having more copies was somewhat correct in my case. Was having trouble deciding, even after the version exclusive stuff was announced. I had ultimately decided on Violet because I liked the color more than a red looking color and I though Miraidon looked cool, the version exclusives besides the legendary had absolutely no effect on my decision in what game I picked.
Still would've been cool if Walking Wake and Iron Leaves looked like fusions of their trios, like how Iron Valiant is a fusion of Mega Gardevoir and Mega Gallade
I've been wondering if they'll integrate a form of fusion in the final dlc and perhaps we do indeed create their trios into 1 mon

The amount of times I’ve been like “The reason they aren’t ancestors is because they’re PARADOXES!!!”. (Paradox means something self-contradicting, hence why walking wake is a PARADOX.)
I mean they clearly aren't Pokemon that existed in the past or will exist in the future. The game itself more or less shows us that the time machine can't be a time machine, but must be an "imagination machine". Just because Saida/Turo believed they turly created a time machine doesn't mean they created one.

@@hisuianchar1548 I agree with your initial point. Some of the Scarlet Paradoxes make sense as ancestors. Others not so much. This doesn't mean we should assume *ALL* the Paradoxes are ancestors. Like you said, they're called *Paradoxes* for a reason.
@@hisuianchar1548 According to Foongus' dex entries, no one knows why it looks like a Pokéball, and it's been posited that the Pokéball design is based on Foongus instead of the other way around. Brute Bonnet looking like a Pokéball is the one of the least weird things about Paradox Pokémon.
I don’t actually think there’s only one of Suicune, Entei, and Raikou like the SpongeBob meme implied. Entei has dex entries talking about being born from volcanic eruptions, the shiny forms canonically exist, you can catch roaming beasts but there’s also certain characters who canonically own a member of the trio, etc.

For the paradox legendaries: I don’t remember where I saw this, but someone suggested that Paradox Suicuine is what suicuine looked like before Ho-oh revived it. It’s never confirmed anyway what Pokémon died in the Tower, even though it’s been suggested that they were starters, original eeveelutions, etc.
The OG Eeveelutions makes more sense than the starters. If it was the starters, would we have seen a grass one? .3.

Walking Wake, (my theory):
If you go by the theory that Suicune and the other two Ledgendary Beast were The 3 gen 1 Eeveelutions, it would be safe to a assume we can use a similar logic with Walking Wake... The Paradox Suicune could have been like an ancient Water Dragon Type Vaporeon that was experimented on by humans, tuning it into what we now know as Walking Wake and the ancient Vaporeon lost to history some may even say that the Water Dragon Type Vaporeon was just a myth made up people

Fun fact: a Paradox is a contradictory, so walking wakes and every other paradox pokemon are able to exist, their lore are just not discovered.
Just for reference, the Eeveelutions missing from Penny's team are Espeon and Glaceon. I've seen a theory as to why those two that points out that Penny doesn't really feel like a "walk in the sun" type of person and leaf stones are just easier to get hold of.
My theory is that they're the two most superfluous Eeveelutions. Glaceon is basically worthless, as Vaporeon can use Ice-type moves and is better in every way, and Espeon is only really worthwhile for Poison-types, since Sylveon's there to counter Fighting-types, plus it has more utility because it covers Dark _and_ is a hard counter to Dragon. Granted, it gives her team a glaring weakness to Poison, but there isn't really a better mon to switch out, since having Leafeon for backup coverage is actually super-useful on a Veevee team, as it can cover Water/Ground-types that wall Jolteon or Water/Rock types that are neutral to Vaporeon. She probably _has_ an Espeon and a Glaceon. She definitely has at least one unevolved Eevee (you can see it with her in some of Dendra's classes). She just doesn't use them in battle because there's a team limit of 6.
I don't if it would be balanced but if I designed her team I would give her og 3 Eeveelutions, Sylveon and then she would have a gen 2 Eeveelution and a gen 4 Eeveelution but they will differ from Scarlet to Violet.
I’m pretty sure If Penny wanted to she could easily order a ice stone from someone either in paldea or one of the other regions we see she has no problem ordering merch.
@@RabblesTheBinx In regard to that Eevee: If you visit the same classes again after beating the main story, you will see that said Eevee has evolved into her Leafeon.
@@Xytark4P maybe, maybe not. Arven brings a Maschiff to early classes and we _know_ that he canonically already had Mabosstiff before the story started. She easily could have just chosen to bring Leafeon to those classes, instead, since her classmates were all bringing evolved Pokémon by then, too.
Grimmsnarl broke the trend of Fairy Types being cute but it fit more with the actual Folklore of The Fair Folk in many regions, especially England where SwSh was set XD

As someone who played and beat both Scarlet and Violet, I think the reason Violet sold more is because of which legend you ride. Even in the trailers Violet's motorcycle looked better than a dino frog just from how they moved

Personally I just prefer the Violet pokemon more. Each robot pokemon has a special feature, like Iron Bundle's bobblehead or Iron Leaves' swords.
Some of the Scarlet paradox Pokémon are really awesome, but the Violet paradoxes are more unique to me. We have plenty of organic looking Pokémon, but crazy robots? Hardly any!
I have both but I just really love Miraidon for giving me so much nostalgia for all those robo-pets that were popular in the 90s-2000s. I also just like Violet's uniforms better and since we're stuck in them, yeah... it makes me play Violet more.

I will now present my reason why Walking Wake doesn't break Suicune's lore. We know that Suicune was originally a different Pokemon that died in the Burned Tower, and when Ho-Oh resurrected it, he simply used Walking Wake as INSPIRATION for it's new form. If Ho-Oh is super old, it could have seen wild Walking Wakes before.
I think the problem with the violet paradoxes is that the official art don't give them justice, they look better in their animations (like iron leaves having 3 blades while attacking)
Nah, the problem is that the majority are basically, "What if , but it's a robot?" Like, it works for some of them, but Iron Jugulis is literally just a robot Hydreigon with worse typing (when we could have had a badass hydra-tank), Iron Hands is just robot Hariyama, etc.
They look better in animation, but they're still not good.
@@RabblesTheBinx the only explanation I heard that kinda make sense is that the original Pokemon they're based on don't exist in the future, that's why they look like perfect replicas bc they're built from the ground up
While that is true, a big part of it is that having them all just be robots is just... Boring. It feels like the only word they could think of for future was "Iron" while the past versions had so many more options and directions to go.

Walking wake isnt an AU suicune or a suicune ancestor. It just is some prehistoric beast that filled suicune’s niche back when it was alive!

i think the lore behind raiko, entei, and suicune is this:
walking wake and the other paradoxes burned in the tower, but ho-oh saw how they were the last of their kind. he revived them but his power was limited, so they dont have their full form or power.
for me personally when it comes to picking the game from the generation I wanna buy first, I almost always tend to lean more toward the blue one. Mostly because blue is my favourite colour but also because I tend to like the version exlcusives more in the blue one. And I got Violet mostly because I preferred the more futuristic stylizing as compared to the prehistoric one.

Ho-oh created the trio based on the paradox Pokémon that once existed. It didn't evolve into suicune, suicune was created in the image of walking wake

My current theory about paradox is it’s all imagination which is why when the professor’s wanted to go throughout time a Time Machine worked but the powers aren’t strong enough to create a new world so they can only send pokeballs. Also it explains why the professor’s teams are in masterballs

Mostly I think Violet is more popular because people prefer the sci-fi theme. Really it’s something that hasn’t been done before, whereas we can find a lot more prehistoric based things in other Pokémon. Plus people think robots are cool.
The color theory also makes sense though. Especially since I see some of the blue games get more love

Now with Raging Bolt and Gouging Fire, we know that they share a passing resemblance to the Beasts yet aren't the beasts, or Ho-Oh thought the pokemon who died in the fire were these 'paradox' beasts but since they weren't dinosaurs/dragons, the beasts aren't Dragon-Type anymore.
