Jason's funeral was yesterday, it was live streamed if anyone wants to watch: www.facebook.c...
I meant to add, one of my favorite (or funniest) Tommy moments was in Dino Thunder, when Dr. O was fighting Elsa at the high school in street clothes, so when the students came outside it appeared the teacher and their principal were having this epic battle. Pretty hysterical out of context for the students, I'd imagine! (Mia also loved this scene)

Perfect send up to him. The green candle extinguished sadly is the perfect metaphor of him leaving.
I have a lot of sad feelings about his passing and the way he died. It’s so trite to say he was my hero - but he sorta was, when I was a young kid. Him and Billy where the ones I gravitated to the most. Even all these years later, he remained a presence in the power rangers community and lore, and I really appreciated that kind of dedication.
We’ll all miss him in different ways I guess. It’s like you said, it’s just sad.
    Again, great send up

Im one of those people who grieves with comedy. For a day or so after his passing, I tried my hardest to be funny or make jokes, but I just couldn't. I didn't know how to react, to feel. A couple of days later, I burst into tears for the first time in 4 years. He was at my local mall back in April, and I regret not going every day. My heart goes out to his friends, family, the PR Community, and all of you.

I grew up knowing JDF as Dr. Tommy Oliver. He was a mentor and a guide for a bunch of misfits and teens who needed someone to show them what it meant to be a hero. His legacy will never be forgotten in the fandom... and i hope he is well resting among Thuy, Pua, and all the other Rangers who have fallen. Rest in Power JDF. I remember getting the red and green flip heads as a kid for my birthday. They were incredibly hard to find but my mom made it happen. Tommy was apart of my childhood and I’ll carry the memory of how happy I was to get his figure at my birthday all those years ago. I remember jumping up and down at the tv when he came back as the green ranger and retrieved the other rangers coins from Goldar. I never met Jason but he seemed like a fun person. This definitely hit me harder than I was expecting. Thank you Bruno it was a touching video.

I was fortunate to have met Jason David Frank at MegaCon Orlando three different times. I was hoping to see him again in the future, but after hearing what happened I couldn't believe it. It's a deep loss for all of us growing up with this franchise. He made so much inspiration to us and was a kind and caring person.
My favorite Tommy Oliver moment takes place outside TV in the graphic novel Soul of The Dragon. Just seeing how Tommy has been through so much in his life as a ranger that his final mission is to find his son really brings closure to the character. Even seeing JJ as the next Green SPD Ranger with the Dragon Shield resembling the legacy being carried on, really came as a surprise.

Favorite Tommy episode is definitely “return of an old friend” bringing him back as the green ranger to save the other rangers and get their power coins. Such a bass ass moment. As for JDF the man. I wasn’t able to personally meet him. I was at a con he was at and unfortunately I didn’t have enough money to meet him and shake his hand and thank him for the memories. You could definitely feel the power of positive energy near his booth. His line was huge and rightfully so. His spirit and positive message will always live on. Especially though us fans and his friends and family. I know I can speak for all of us when I say we love him and will miss him. It’s up to all of us to gather together and continue to share memories and keep his legacy alive. Thank you Jason David Frank! Rest easy! May the power protect you… ALWAYS!!!

Man i still cant believe he still gone. He really was a living legend in my eyes and changed the lives of every one and how we use to look at power rangers. Tommy made power rangers. He was the best Green to white to Zeo ranger! Zeo is still my favorite. And my favorite episode is when he went out to find Jason to transfer the golden powers before they were lost. Any and all episodes featuring him and Austin St John are totally worth watching and enjoying. Those two are still awesome to this day.

I don't spend much time following the personal lives of famous people, because they really are just a person doing a job. In the past I have become annoyed with how much the series relied on Tommy, instead of focusing on other characters. But now that he's gone, I find that the thought of Tommy never being on the show again really makes me sad. And in addition, I've been hearing all these stories about JDF's generosity and kindness, and as I've watched some of his interviews, I have gotten a better sense of who he was as a person, and I'm really sad that he's gone. I'm sad he was in so much pain, and appeared to be for a while, now. And like him or hate him, the show would NEVER have been as big a success without him

The only time I got to see him in person was at Otakon in 2012. He was such a cool and humble guy and even approached the fans to show off his karate moves, even as security tried to get him to back away and disperse the crowd. My biggest regret is not getting to speak to him personally and tell him how much of an impact he had on my life. You always think there will be another opportunity to meet your heroes but there's never any guarantees in life. When Legend of the Dragon comes out next year it'll definitely be a surreal viewing experience and I hope that the legacy he leaves will continue to be a positive influence on fans around the world.

You know, I lived in Valencia CA for many years. When I was little, my Mom would point out Rising Sun Karate (right next to the Chuckie Cheese lol) whenever we would head that way. Growing up, I would always imagine how it was inside, "Tommy's in there doing all sorts of cool martial arts and Ranger stuff!". My mind would run wild with all sorts of Power Ranger daydreams everytime I'd see it. In reality, Jason was in there giving young people the tools they needed for self discipline, confidence in one's own abilities, and an escape from the outside world where they could simply work on themselves and learn something cool. I never went inside, part of me thinks maybe I should have.
I've been very critical of Jason, and very much fell out of love with the character of Tommy, since back in the Super Megaforce days, hell probably even further back than that. If his passing has taught me anything, it's that there's two sides to the coin of hero worship. There's the obvious kissing of the ground they walk on, and turning them into this monolithic idea or concept, rather than a person. But the flip side, even though I became disillusioned by him, I still was treating him as a monolith. He wasn't Jason the human being, he was JDF "YEEEEEEEEEEA!!!" the convention preformer, the guy leveraging the nostalgia of nerds for profit, the guy who had an ego the size of a megazord, and everything he did was through that lens to me. But after reading so many testimonials, from cast members to fans, of him being genuine, kind, and going out of his way for people, it finally dawned on me that he's just a guy. Something I thought I already understood, and as simple a concept as it is, I clearly did not. He was a complex individual, like all of us, capable of being obnoxious and egotistical, just as much as he was of being a truly good guy who would do a great deal for both the people close to him and a stranger he just met in an autograph line. But most importantly, someone capable of feeling pain, just like all of us, and that's why I want to say that I'm sorry Mr. Frank, you were just a man trying to do his best in life and I treated you like you were above it all, and didn't consider that you could be a person struggling in the same ways that I have. I'm truly sorry if others didn't notice for similar reasons. You deserved better than that.
I never went inside Rising Sun Karate while you were still there, but I thank you for the lesson you've given me anyway Sensei Frank. Rest in peace and thank you for the fond childhood memories, I will cherish them always.

I got to meet him once at a con and it was awesome. I had a custom green ranger helmet in the colors of the black ranger helmet made, and I took it and a few other things to get signed. When I got up there I could only afford to get one thing signed so I took up my helmet. I handed it to him as he was like “you want me to sign this?” I said yes please and he was like “first, real quick” and he pretended to kiss it where the mouth is and took a selfie with it and sent the pic to Johnny Yong Bosch. Then he asked me if this was all, I said that it was all I could afford, and he was like “put the rest up here, I’ll happily sign it!” I asked if he was sure and he said “of course!” He was such an amazing person, a great role model, kind, caring, and much more. Losing you was, is, and will always be heartbreaking and tragic! Jason, you will be missed and never forgotten by your family, friends, and the millions of people whose life you positively impacted on a daily basis, mine included. “Once a ranger, always a ranger! One of my favorite moments in MMPR was when Tommy became the white ranger. Alpha and Zordon were being super secretive about it and surprised the other 5. I still watch to this day all episodes on DVD. I will miss him so much… To anyone having a tough time in life, thoughts of suicide, depression, anything negative, Jesus said “Come to me all who are weary and heavy-laden and I will give you rest” Mathew 11:28
Jesus is absolutely real, and He loves each and every one of us. That verse is so true, He’s helped me a lot in my life with my ups and downs, and even my own thoughts of suicide. He cares, and He understands. Anyone who comes to Him, He WILL give you rest by lifting those burdens off your shoulders, because He already took on that weight on the cross. Jesus died on that cross and rose again so you and I can have a new life, a clean slate. Jesus Christ is real, and He is there waiting for us to come to Him.
I will miss Jason so much, I never got a chance to meet him myself, but I have heard from a lot people that he was an amazing person, I wish I could have met him. He was my childhood hero, love you man, may God rest your soul brother, I will never forget you.

I was ever so fortunate to meet Jason 8 years ago when he came through my town on a Con. I'd waited 20 years to meet him and when I finally got through the line, I burst into tears. He asked why I was upset, I told him I'd had the world's biggest crush on him and meeting him was a dream come true. He came around the table and gave me a hug. That Con was my birthday present that year, and he left this earth on my birthday this year. RIP, once a Ranger, always a Ranger.

    Beautiful tribute.
My favourite Tommy quote will always be “I may be old, but I can still pull it off!” from Dino Thunder, and this is coming from a Mighty Morphin kid! It’s something I plan to say when I take on my stepbrothers in Tekken!
Met JDF at a con here in London a few years ago. He LOVED that I was dressed as the Pink Ranger. So much so he found me on the convention floor just to get a personal picture with me! One of my most treasured memories!
It’s quite chilling to me that the very first Morphicon I was able to attend was also his last one… He may be gone but his memory lives on.
As someone who has battled suicidal thoughts let me just say to everyone: If you’re ever feeling at that point PLEASE seek help! It may take a while to find the right person to help you but keep at it because they ARE out there! It may not always feel like it but there ARE people who care about you and want to help you!

I had always hoped to go to a convention and meet him in person. sad that can't happen now, for me though Tommy was my all time favorite ranger. He always came in when they needed him the most, even when his powers were running out, he stood against evil with everything he had left. He proved that a ranger is more than the powers they have, it's the spirit and determination they have as well.
His is a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come. For those of us that knew him as Tommy, and those that knew him as Jason, he will be missed He gave a light when a lot of kids needed one the most and that light will never go out.
RIP Jason David Frank, Thank you for making our childhoods awesome and amazing.

My heart still hurts this has been the hardest year of my life. Losing my Mom on January 13th who was everything in my life and my only true family. Then Losing my younger step brother in November and now Losing my childhood hero who was my idol and role model for a long time. This has been tough and in February will be my 5yrs clean from heroin. To say that this year was messed up is an understatement and going without a Thanksgiving and also going through Christmas alone at 36 is going to be the hardest thing I never thought I'd have to ever do or consider.

Hey man, I feel you! I'm at a lost of words! I remember always running from school to catch the Power Rangers show on time, I had all the toys they put out! I'm in my late 30's & still a fan. Sorry about your loss's man, I've lost family & friends in the past 3 yrs! I'm afraid who will be next! I wouldn't ever take my life, I treasure life so much to even think of doing something like that! I have bad depression & anxiety, but somewhere in my head tells me to keep moving forward, even at my lowest point! As there is no other direction to go, so whatever we may have or who we may have left, cherish it or them, cause there's no telling what will happen the next day! And if there's no one to be with, find someone that may need that same company, you never how much worst someone else has it. You may not have a lot or anyone, but at least you have life, & that's enough for you to keep pulling through! Also keep yourself real busy with any hobby or something, as Idle hands are the devil's playground! Sorry for the long tale, but I like & try to spread nothing but positivity, as it helps a lot to hear & helps me beat this dark cloud that's always hovering over me, but won't ever let it take over, I'm mentally stronger than it! I wish you the best, & many blessings for you to come!! #HeresToLife🍻

@MEMPHISBUTCHA You are a good person and have a good heart and the thing that hurts the most is having a good and big heart in a very very heartless world that would just let someone die on the sidewalk as to try and save a life and that's the devastating thing no one try's to help each other. I know that there are some who help each other and I've always been the type to help others because I like feeling like I can make it a better place or try my best. Well thanks again brother for your kind words and I do good most days and I never want to go down that path but I have been noticing a change in my depression and having short periods of thoughts that have been going down a bad place. It's even more difficult that I'm a guy who isn't supposed to show weakness, or emotions we are just supposed to suck it up and walk it of and hide what we feel inside and hardly even have anyone who will take the time to listen or ask the hard questions.

I met him last year at my local comic shop. As apart of the power protection program. And he was so genuine, kind and took the time to actually engage in conversation and listen to what I had to say. I also told how much power rangers and the first movie means to me and had him sign on it, “anything is possible!” Like he says at the end of the 95 movie. He loved that idea and never had anyone ask that on an autograph before. I’m going to cherish that memory. But beautiful tribute Bruno. Rest in power Jason!

I have been lucky to see him in several conventions and each had a specific memory. But my absolute favorite memory was the first time I saw him. I had brought my wife and a few family members with me and a couple pages full of power ranger cards. I went to his table and started the business portion to come to realize that I could only afford two autos. So, I got to meet him and I was very excited and he spoke to me for a few minutes while signing my two cards. After the small talk he then asked “what else you got for me to sign.” I said thanks but no because I only payed for two. He then said “don’t worry about it.” As he proceeded to sign almost my entire set plus did a free photo opp with my family. By far one of the nicest celebrity meet up ever. I’ll never forget it. Rest in Power😢

I'd say one of the highly memorable things that stood out to me that was amazing about Jason David Frank, was what he was doing over these past couple of years alone. how during covid he was going around to a lot of comic book and hobby stores some may have been good and some may have been struggling without conventions to draw new customers and make money to pay the bills. and in his traditional giveback fashion, seeing as conventions were no longer available JDF went to the fans and visited those mom-and-pop stores which probably did wonders for so many in so many ways. it reminded me of a Neal Adams story about batman and bruce Wayne, where batman was powerless to help a mother struggling to pay bills and keep the house, but bruce Wayne however was far more capable of aiding that mother than batman ever could. in this case, Tommy Oliver was highly limited in helping these mom and pop stores during the pandemic, but JDF, on the other hand, proved to more than capable of helping those in need of even one more good business day to make it to the other side. it wasn't just JDF the power ranger actor, but JDF the great man serving his community.
