This album without a doubt one of the most classic albums of the era. Was shocked but not really how short she was in person when she walked through the lobby talking to fans at the 3000 capacity smallish club we saw Warlock, Dio and Malmsteen at. You definitely would not want to cross her in a back alley though.
It's hard not to judge every female singer with Doro growing up with her front and center. She really sets a high bar in just about every area. Talent, voice, lyrics, power, sensuality, range, style, beauty, strength, songwriting, grace, you name it. She's got it all.
If only we had had a bunch of high school friends running around trying to be cool like Doro instead of Madonna or P Benatar. lol

Seen her live when she was still with Warlock and I was like 14. Later with her own band a couple of times in the 90's. Metal was big in Germany in the late 80's and the 90's, so many great bands, so many great memories.
If you were a metal head, Germany it was a great place to live in the 80's. I lived in Spangdahlem through most of the 80's. I loved growing up there. I saw so many fantastic concerts there. I don't know who I saw more of in the 80's Kreator or Warlock. Not that it matters, both bands were amazing.
It was certainly a great time. I was a teen back then and essentially a bit too young for gigs and festivals, but having an older brother (who also was a big metalhead) was a big advantage. He opened the doors :)
So many good bands in Germany and so many live events. Particularly good memories come from the Monsters Of Rock festivals in Nuremberg (87) and Schweinfurt (88). Anthrax, Testament, Cinderella, Maiden, Dio, Metallica, Deep Purple - they were all there. Great days.
Yup! Definitely! I lived in Augsburg throughout much of the 80's. Metal was awesome then! (And so was punk! Lifelong Hosen fan, but that's another agenda, lol.) Even Helloween and Accept. Great time! Wish I could go back to then sometimes. :)
