That was a minor bar pinch….you should have seen the one I had cutting down a 32” Boxelder tree in my yard. It was 70 feet tall and very dense. A ton of compression on the top! I tried to just score it on top and I didn’t get it more than 3 inches in and it pinched me so bad. I had to grab a hand saw and pound wedges 😂😂😂😂😂 lesson learned… Don’t get greedy
Anybody that never has gotten a saw stuck has never cut much wood. I once had three saws stuck in the same tree trunk bucking it up. I had my MS 440, MS 360, H455 and finally got them unstuck with my MS 251. I had all three bar and chains off them and all of my wedges in the kerfs. Once I got the 360 out I used it to get the others out.
Very common in the hard woods for bigger saws to be used around My area, as Alder naturally grow at a crazy angle. . Literally out cutting the barber chair, with a good chain and good power on point.
I can't wait for you chain grinder video. I also struggle with the grinder and need to finish sharpening with a couple strokes of the file to get new sharp. My grinders just get used to bring back rocked chains. C83 performance might b tough to duplicate with a grinder.
I’m digging that saw! I’m between 585 and 592. One thing may consider when felling low with the tree spurs, try placing wedges in between spurs rather than wedges in the spurs. Something to consider. Thanks for video and thoughts on 585!
spurs? U mean root flares? On these tree's they are both dense and strong. I actually get more leverage the further away from the hinge & the root flares are stiff & strong enough to jack those trees right over. The only reason I put them on the sides is as was on one tree, it was a leaner & I cut the hinges as thin as I can...supported the tree a bit with wedges. You can see the results.
I didn't see it as u were, but figured u asked a question, I needed to give a full and thoughtful answer. Trying to support those who support me as well :)
Good job. We did same sort of thing last week. When pulling logs we lift one end to keep dirt and stones out of bark. That saw worked great. What chain? Semi chisel or full chisel?
c83 as it comes out of the box cuts fast and wears well even in those nasty tree's :) I have evolved from LGX to RS to now c83....and I don't see any reason to go backwards but a lot of reasons to stay with the c83 :)
Walt, I miss seeing Bob on here with you. How’s he doing in his retirement? I haven’t been keeping up on the FF, so I just don’t know.

I did the same thing but I used a mini x to get them loose
Nice work

I have a grinder exactly like yours…takes some feel to get it to grind right. It leaves a lot of burrs and burning if too aggressive.

@@afleetcommand definitely not questioning your authority or results, just a consideration…
