Concord, NC 28026 - Jak na to + styl
These complete EDC builds at a fixed dollar amount videos are always some of my favorite content you put out. This style video never disappoints
Here's my $100 EDC list suggestion:
-QSP Penguin in Jade G10 with a D2 blade $31.50
-Zebra Pen F-701 retractable ballpoint pen stainless steel 0.8mm black ink (1-pack) $8.07
-Olight I3E 90 LumensEOS PMMA compact keychain flashlight $9.95
-KeySmart MagConnect Quick Release Keychain $11.99
-Victorinox Classic SD Red $19.99
-Magpul DAKA Essential Tactical Slim Minimalist Wallet $16.95
Total price: $98.45
Cool list, but my own EDC I can do without the multi-tool and wallet, so I'd put a few more dollars into the quick release keychain just to get a stronger magnet. The Zebra pens come in second to the G2 Pilot pens IMO. Love the QSP Penguin pick too, and can't argue with an Olight I guess:)
@@geico1975 i also prefer the G2 pilot pens, and I would choose a better light if budget allowed. I just threw the list together to see if I could conceptualize a better kit going by his criteria in the video.
Edit: My personal EDC is much more expensive.
Only thing I'd change is Zebra pens because their quality is abysmal. Many other options, some are even a little cheaper. I bought that exact same pen about a month ago and it was a choppy mess. Pulled the other one out of the 2 pack and it was even worse. Threw them away and bought pilot g2 and Sharpie S-Gel. Both have been flawless.
Good picks, but a Qsp parrot is also nice and less expensive than the penguin.
@@xDooksx
QSP Penguin was my first QSP and my second was the Parrot. Both good EDC's for sure. There's so many though of that size, materials and cost, which are great! Even a couple models of Ganzo knives are just fine EDC's for anyone.
Would love to see the “Worst EDC” carry you can put together, full carry for as cheap as you can… without it being the absurdly worst thing you can get!
This is me basically
Please do a series on independent Etsy seller EDC ideas.
For a tiny mini square flashlight with red LED, I would highly recommend Rovyvon E7. Not only it has brighter twin LEDs, but also dual white/red sidelight flood light modes. Best of all it has both an internal rechargeable battery and AAA battery as primary or backup.
I have the Victorinox Rambler. It's basically the Rally with scissors. I love the mini phillips head screwdriver. It's the most used tool on there for me. Great video. Keep up the good work!
I love when you do these challenges! I would like to see you actually shopping and picking out the stuff, like you did in the first couple videos. Other than that awesome vid man, keep them coming!
Nite Ize keyrack slide lock $5, Chums Surfshorts wallet $10, Zebra F301 pen $7, Streamlight Microstream USB $30, Gerber Shard multi tool $7. Leaving $41 for a knife. The Chums Surfshorts wallet is a very underrated Wallet. I love mine!
So glad you brought these back. I love the EDC build videos.
I dig these videos a lot and they are great ideas for content that have a solid purpose. Thanks Taylor
Taylor, cut towards yourself all you want. But you keep going on and on about how you never leave the house without a TPT and you STILL choose to open packages with a 3 inch blade?!
TPT isn't just a dedicated package opener my guy
@@semkoot8315 I know. I'm just busting his balls.
@@semkoot8315
I mean, sure... but, literally, if you look up box cutter on Google, it'll give you retractable utility blade tools....
@Sem koot Yea, but if he has it, and loves it so much, and carries it on his site, then why wouldn't he use it over a random folder?
@@tyleriron-bear177 Cause a normal knife can open Amazon packages aswell?! Utility knives are nice to have on you for when you're cutting stuff that would put unnecessary wear on a normal knife like sandpaper or chicken wire.
You really don't need to overthinking what knife your going to use to cut tape. He just grabbed the shamen and went with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I love these fixed challenge vids, awesome. Konig looks fantastic.
Great video as usual! Always enjoy the budget challenges.
I love these complete carry videos. I'd love to see you do one where instead of setting an overall budget, you set a budget for each item like $50 per item or something.
I love the post-purchase reactions for these kinds of videos as a way of showing some perspective!
I find myself going back and watching your older videos on this topic. I enjoy these a lot.
Thank you for the video! The knife looks great! Would you ever try shopping on that Temu app for a budget carry? It would be interesting?
Love these types of videos, I would love to see an Antique Store version with maybe a rough time period. Love different time period edc’s.
Sounds like a great idea
Excellent idea!
$50 carry, Opinel is the knife to go with here!
Man, I love your videos dude. Even if the gear isn't the best of the best you still make the video and put out your real opinion.
Yess finally more of these videos
Legit been waiting so long! Finally some content that got me to sub in the first place!
Definitely do it again love these. The rally👍👍.
I love my sak rally. I like having the Phillips head on my keychain and it has come in handy at work so many times. I never need the scissors.
For probably a couple of decades I used the blue rubber bands the hold broccoli together. Those are the cheapest, best wallets.
These videos are always enjoyable
Great video! The items might not be a first choice for regular carry but, hey, in a pinch if you can use what you have then it’s a win. Thanks. My favorite item was the knife. No-frills. Useable.
It would be cool to see a Vs. video where you buy a couple different carries (for $100) and compare them. Maybe allow submissions and have people vote for at least one of the options.
This is an awesome idea, second this!
Here’s my $100 carry from Amazon:
Knife- QSP Parrot: $26.50
Light- Wurkkos FCII: $26.39 (on sale!!)
Wallet- Herschel Charlie: $15.20
Utility- Prybid X: $20.40
Keys- Lucky Line Bolt Snap: $8.25
Pen- Zebra Pen F-301 Blue: $2.12
Total: $98.86
These are always fun to watch ✌️
got to say i had never heard of the chums wallets before i saw one of your videos, thank you it is such a great choice for me having to wear a suit to have such a light weight wallet i can just toss into my inside jacket pocket
I have and have had a ton of pens over the years but my go-to for as long as I can remember is the blue ink Zebra F301.
Out of all the wallets I’ve tried. The chums surf wallet for $10 is by far the best. It’s slimmer than the ridge style wallets plus you can make one zipper pocket as a utility pocket . I keep a 58mm sak a rovyvon bandaids and some pills and it’s still more comfortable than other wallets with only my cards in it.
That Fenix light is awesome. I have one and it is amazing how bright it is. I just wish it was a little larger for a little more battery life.
Personally, I would nix the flashlight (a phone has a passable light), and combine the knife and multi tool into one (by doing this you can get a nicer tool, and at this price point, you don't need two dedicated tools).
Here's my stab:
- Gerber Gear Suspension NXT: $29.99
- Nite Ize Dual Locking Carabineer: $2.95
- Magpul Daka Essentials: $16.95
Total cost: $49.91
This has the benefit of giving you a nice pair of pliers as well. If you don't need the pliers, I'd switch the Gerber for a Milwaukee 6-in-1 Fastback. Utility knife EDC isn't flashy, but it's got a lot going for it, plus it'll save you another $5.
awesome video with lots of information.
Awesome vid! I think it'd be great if you did one of these $____ Complete Carries but we got to come up with the carry then you review them.
How about a series of x dollar items. For example, best knife for $20, best flashlight for$20, etc. Whatever dollar amount, then someone could save for each one.
I love your videos!
Got to love Old Milwaukee Fastback 1505 -$20
Folding 1/4 bit holder with reversible Phillips and flathead, bottle opener, wire stripper, and folding utility knife.
Got the rally one time for the budget, actually like that thing it lives on my desk and find myself using it all the time
Great vid. I’d love to see a $1000 dollar edc video
fun little challenge! I like your pen, knife, and SAK choices.
Here's mine:
Idakekiy Key Chain with quick release: 7.99
Minimalist wallet: 9.99
Pilot G2 gel pen-2 pack: 2.98
Victorinox Rambler: 26.98
Olight I1R 2 Pro: 21.98
Civivi Mini Praxis: 29.75
Total: $99.64
Note: You could swap the Rambler for the Spartan if you wanted a bigger SAK, or drop it all together and pick your favorite casio if you want to go watch instead.
What about a $100 EDC build without the knife? That way you can show some better quality items that we might not know about without half the budget going to the knife. I feel like people are pickier about their knife choices anyway and so whatever budget knife you pick, 75+% of people aren't going to be interested in that knife anyway.
Ruike D191-B is a great budget knife choice. I got one from my boss as a gift and it hasn't left my pocket since.
What is the pocket knife you used to open everything? It's very nice
Got to love that Amazon packaging. 😅
The Acumen is actually a decent knife. Reminds me of my F5.5
HELL YESS BACK TO THE ROOTS🎉❤
Do you know about the hypodermic attachment for that zebra? Pretty slick I highly suggest it
Great Video... I'd ditch the key gismo (they disconnect.. Yikes) and upgrade to the Victorinox Rambler 58mm Swiss Army Knife - 10 Function Small Pocket Knife, Red.
You get convenient scissors in addition to the bottle opener and screwdriver. The tweezers are also great. I carried this knife on an AT-through hike in 2007.
Taylor, that is a good looking knife 👍
Nice job. Maybe next instead of $100 limit. Do best value edc. Or only buy stuff you haven't owned and use it for awhile then tell us if you would buy it again or choose something else.
I want to see more of these
It’s a fun challenge!! Freeman and I did the same thing (inspired by your first one of these of course) and it was a blast! I think I won tho…😉😁
i would love to make a wish list of this challenge and see your opinion on submissions you get
I know it's not cheap, but the olight arkfeld is the best edc light for me.
i like cutting towards myself, it keeps me awake and makes me pay attention.
For the price for knives the ruike p801 and qsp penguin are both great choices
@7:35 I don't have a key fob as I drive a classic but I use my rovyvon/olight as the fob in pocket
The casio MDV106-1AV is a great casio diver it has a 200m depth rating and it has different color bezal inserts it 50 bucks and you can put 22 mm straps on it
(Ignore the description it says bidirectional bezal but it is a uni)
I got one for edc cause I have an expensive watch and I really don't want to mess it up so I have the black version with a black metal bracelet and it's wonderful
Sorry about the spelling
Does anyone know what the best place is to buy ranger eye patches?
The key to a successful 100 or even 50 dollar EDC is to include the 10 dollar liner lock unassisted flipper with bearings pocketknife from Harbor Freight. It's currently my favorite pocketknife under 25 bucks.
I bought 2. Because yes. I use my nicer Kershaw for EDC and my HF for work EDC.
@@mourneris IMO the HF is superior to many of the Walmart grade Kershaw and CRKT, and all the Gerber. Amazing for 10 bucks.
Had that light for a long time on my keys. Can't fault it at all.
Why not get a Parker pen? Or do those not retail in America?
Next cheap edc you do you ought to check out CJRB knives. They are the Civivi level of Artisan Cutlery. They average in the 30 to 50 dollar price point but are great quality just like Civivi. They use mainly RPM9 steel.
I’ve done one with the Feldspar
I need a keyoranizer myself!
I have a $100 carry that I use quite a bit because I don’t mind losing parts of it. It’s as follows (all purchased this year, but some were on sale):
Civivi Praxis: $32
Nextool Mini Sailor Lite: $20
Rovyvon A3: $16
Hamans Titanium Multi Pry Bar: $16
Zebra F-301: $4
Chums wallet: $12
This is perfect ! i had to sell EVERYTHING when both my parents died this year so i can stay at his house so this is literally my budget lol
No longer an outdoor type, my EDC:
Carried on belt -
Swiss Army Knife (Champ) in belt holster.
2 x Jigsaw blades (one metal, one wood) each in 1/4" heat shrink tube.
3" piece of hot melt glue stick
Pen
Lighter
1/2 round sharpening stone
Key for house, on key ring with mini LED light, and 9mm Olfa utility knife, cut down to 3" long.
Right angle LED light
Leatherman Wave (this may be removed)
1 X $100 bill, rolled up (optionally folded small). I used to carry a $20 bill, but that wont buy anything now, as backup.
Carried in pockets -
Folded bandana, 2 x folded down paper towers, 1 X pack of tissues
Cell phone
Fresnel lens attached to cell phone in ID badge holder
Wallet
Spare key for house, on key ring with mini LED light
12' X 750# paracord
And occasionally, conceal carry .40 cal pocket pistol.
Yeah man what were you thinking with that SAK ,although smaller a classic SD💩all over that one .
- Victorinox Rambler $35 (has mini screwdrivers)
- Milwaukee Fastback $15 (has large screwdrivers)
- Olight i1R 2 flashlight (1000 lumens) $18
- Travelambo minimalist wallet $8
- any pocket or belt case (earbud case, Altoids tin, pill case, sunglasses case, etc.) for carrying a pen, mini-notepad, meds, etc. $8 or less
=====
$84
A Bic Round Stic is practically free and can be cut in half to fit in any case, but if you want to get a little slicker, buy a Fisher Space Pen refill and wrap it with gaffer tape to give it some thickness and allow you to use the tape in a pinch.
A zebra pen is always my go to for 4 bucks and metal
What knife were you opening everything with?
Can’t see, just dropping $100, on most of that!
I agree with the Fenix E03R,
mine is in my around the house clothes pants pocket.
I’ve had it for about two years,
& it’s the most used flashlight I have!
As for the wallet,
your idea of the rubber bands may of been better!
I like my pocket knives to have just a steel blade,
not black, or green, or beige.
I carry a Zebra 701, have had for years.
Tried a magnetic key ring, a few years ago,
I was lucky, someone saw me lose my keys,
& yelled out to me.
I decided not to take that route again.
Drive carefully, & smile often!
@@Horde334
Shortly after I got the Fenix light,
I make a Paracord fob for it.
Easy to pull out of my pocket.
Pendant would work well also.
I keep a little rechargeable Olight
on my key ring.
You sound like me when random packages show up to the house and I was really drunk a few nights before.
You should try the key unity bolt action pens
use the magnetic link to attach the flashlight to one of the knives? maybe that was the underlying thought?
Great video sir but yeah the last $100 was a little better
FYI, in the 1960s and 70’s, arts and crafts teachers were told to tell kids who they saw were butterfingers to never cut towards themselves because they didn’t want to liability of the parents of these kids suing the schools. Somehow it became a norm that you shouldn’t cut towards yourself. It’s completely nonsensical to anyone who has any skills and motor control. The butterfingers of this world should follow this, but they generally would not be interested in anything EDC. And if you are an EDC person and you are tempted to say this, then you are the person that everyone regards as a fuss budget
The magnetic keyring I would switch up with mechanical version funny enough I still have the one I baught and used since high-school though I use it to hold my leather outback hat still iys never failed and I can assure you my hat ways much more than keys have even take a tumble or two down a hill and still had my hat on my bag
Good luck on the $50 adventure
Got to have a watch.
For round about the same price, give or take 50 cents or something, you could’ve gotten the Zebra F402 or the 701. The X701 is more expensive, but it’s a step up from the 301
DEAD RIGHT NO THOUGHT OF CHANGING, I DIDNT WANNA SEE WATCHES THOUGHT ABOUT IT ONCE AFTER U SAID IT BUT NAHH GREAT ASSUMTIONS!!!
The civivi mini praxis is great an a nice $30 on Amazon
Best~ nice ! see you soon. 💯
I may give this a shot at $50 looking forward to watching your $50 edc challenge
Definitely need another go around on this one lmao and that multi tool and wallet🤮
What about covering best uncommon Swiss army /multi tool parts?
Theres a “hybrid 1000 lumen headlamp” from energizer…. Its L shape, and takes cr123 or a 18650…. Use it in the next edc… as a construction guy, it took over my coast hx5… its UI is good… after 8 secondsof on, when yon turn it off, it comes back on to that setting, so good.
Like the video, would love to see the redemption vid haha. Any chance you could do a beginners essentials video?
Surprised you didn't go with a civivi mini praxis. They're only $30 and D2 (it's currently the knife that goes everywhere with me). Only downside is the handle might be a little smaller than you like. Could've done that and then gotten a Rambler for your Swiss army knife instead and gotten the best of the rally and classic SD in one tool.
$50? No sweat!
- Pen ($3.14): Zebra F-301 Retractable Ballpoint Pen, Stainless Steel Barrel, Fine Point, 0.7mm, Blue Ink, 1-Pack
- Flashlight ($6.99): Foxhawk Mini EDC LED Flashlight, Cree XPG2 R5, AAA, Max 180 Lumens, Black
- Wallet/Keys ($9.99): Chums Surfshorts Wallet, Lightweight Zippered Minimalist Water Resistant Wallet with Key Ring
- Knife/Multitool ($12.85): Mil-Tec MI212 Military Folding Knife w/ Saw Blade, OD Green
- Watch ($15.88): Casio W-217H-9AVCF
TOTAL: $48.85 (enough left to add on a $0.99 bandana/handkerchief, to round out the carry!)
What’s the jacket you have in the thumbnail? Looks really nice!
It’s a secret 🤫
Anyone have a good recommendation for where to get some nice lanyards?
For the pens you should have gotten the Bic Atlantis
vosteed is my go to for under 100 bucks knife.
The only thing that came to my mind when you were testing the magnetically key chains was “you know it only takes 7lbs of pressure to rip a persons ear off?”😂
You're being mean to the SAK Rally. It swaps out the scissors of the Classic for a Philips screwdriver. Depends which you'd rather have. They do make a model with both, but that's a bit wider and more expensive.
You should look at Petrified Fish. For $50 you get a knife that is WAY better than the Elementum and a lot of other Civivi options.
