MBT actually answered question 7 on one of his twitter threads about weird rulings. Though it is kinda intuitive that it goes to grave because imagine a field spell staying on field whose effect is just "both players draw a card" now
I feel like we had a question like that before with a field spell, where it actually stayed on the field and got its effect because the field spell had no activated effect and then just applied its continous effect. I was so sure I had this question right because of that and then it was different.
My guess was that since the activated effect was changed, the card's own effect was not, so it would not allow you to use it every turn.
I didn't think that since the currently active effect was not a continued type, it would go to grave.
At Number 7 I also was like: "huh !?!?!?"
Totally got bamboozled, normally I'm pretty good at Rulings, but this is absurd
I know about it because MBT has talked about it a few times including in a stream with a rulings iceberg from about a year ago. Since generaider, gossip shaddow and darkworld all have cards with this really dumb/cursed effect
I mean...I thought it was pretty simple. Boss Room resolves and does nothing (because it's just giving Fog Blade a new effect, but Boss Room itself just sits there), Fog Blade resolves and both players draw 1, but since Fog Blade has no actual target, it would just leave the field (I was wrong on the exact reason for Fog Blade leaving, but I figured it was gonna leave the field in some way), Utgarda resolves and banishes Bardiche, and the PK players proceeds to get mad salty because he just gave up his entire card advantage to fucking GENERAIDER XD

@@xatuyou8045 oh yeah didn't realize gossip shadow was monster specific I just know it was one of the cards that changes the effect of a card.
I knew number 7… because I somehow got that EXACT same thing on MD with me activating the fog blade. Same monsters, same everything. When I saw number 7 I literally laughed out loud.

None of these cards are Tuners, meaning you have no way to Synchro Summon with them, and have nothing to contest your opponent’s 5 card hand. You also kept missing with your Danger! monsters, meaning you went even more minus than you would’ve, and now have an empty hand with a couple of 1400 DEF monsters on the field. Maybe you should’ve opened a different pack, buddy!

16:06 Just because I played Generaider in the Extra Zero festival I knew exaclty what the question was going to be and the answer xD. It came so much that I had to negate a floodgate or field with Boss Room.

clearly the way the Boss Room/Fog Blade interaction SHOULD work is that the effect "Both players draw 1 card" is applied continuously and the game goes to deckout before the chain is even finished resolving. I think that would be a cool and balanced and healthy way for that to work.
In my head it would work like tenki where you draw but the card would still remain face up doing nothing

Yeah the fog blade works in that instance only cause declaration so it stopped the attack during the step where the attack is going through instantly ending the attack where if it had been earlier Farfa was right as soon as it's removed it can no longer stop the monster from attacking

Yeah he purposefully doesnt use the obvious rulings that come up a lot. That's the point of the show. If the ruling were frequent rulings, then it would be very easy.

Finally a deck I play, so I can play along
I play along on all of them and still get a good score sometimes better than the person on the quiz even if I don't play the deck, like I got 6/8 on the ghostrick one and I think it was 7/8 for the monarch one for example. I just read the cards in the question then use my general card ruling knowledge to figure out what happens.
@@malexthegreat jeez, you should be a judge in that case. Also is easy to answer a lot of those when there's no audience and no pressure.

@@Ragnarok540 well you say that but I don't think I know enough to a judge honestly I mean I just did this one and got 7/8 but I am sure that there is a lot of rulings that I would probably get wrong I have quite good general knowledge of how ruling work but I don't think I am quite good enough to be a judge, and I do take about as much time as they do to answer overall, I also always pause the video once the question is asked so I can give an unbiased answer first. But I always read it then go of similar situations and as I remember the wording of them quite well I was like well eldlich trap monsters are destroyed in this situation but shade isn't treated as a trap and the eldlich traps are so my answer was that shade isn't destroyed. But if the question doesn't have something that is similar to something I have already encountered it is just a guess for me.

I feel sad. PK main and I got the 6/8 question 1 and 6 wrong. 1 cause I thought bardiche still had to be dark. And 6 cause of the clause on the link monster i thought it said while that monster is still on the fields meaning the xyz had to still be on field to activate the effect

Boss stage is a funny card due mechanic bsery it makes all continous cards effectively into normal spell and trap csrds

I don’t understand why you felt the need to respond by bringing that up when it had nothing to do with what I said in this context.
I actually knew question 7 cause I thought about one interaction from my power of the guardians against boss room that my friend played. Thank god it was master duel so the game knew what had to be done.

With that semicolon, is fog blade's continuous-like effect on activation treated as an activated effect?
Fog Blade has no effect applied when resolving its activation. That effect is entirely continuous.
If it were King Regulus (negates effects not activations), it wouldn't matter because the effect is indeed continuous.
But in this case, where the effect is altered and not negated, think of it more like deleting the text of Fog Blade and replacing it with Boss Room's "both draw 1 card".
That's also the reason on resolution of the chain, Fog Blade is sent to the gy as if it were a normal trap. Its text was completely overwritten.
Specifically "negate that face-up monster's effects, that face-up monster cannot attack, also monsters cannot target that face-up monster for attacks. When it leaves the field, destroy this card." became "each player draws 1 card. "

I don't agree with #7. It changes it's effect, it doesn't change what type of trap card it is. Since it's continuous it should stay on the field as essentially a blank space.
It would be like summoning jinzo to the field while there is a continuous trap face up. It's a mechanic not an effect.

Question 7 reminded me of using Therions King Regulus to negate a Fog Blade, it still stays on the field and negates whatever it targeted.
Its confusing shit like what happend in question 5 that will mean Im never going to any events cause that shit is really cnfuseng for someone who has a learning disability to grasp like I only just found a video that explained what the atual differnce between soft and hard once per turn effects are in a way that made sense WHILE showing what the difference in the wording looks like lol
