The joke is that he’s supposed to be evil in the film for the most part but in the books everyone was convinced his character was the good headmaster (you’d have to understand the books to get the joke)

I love that Agatha mentioned in the movie that no one is purely good or purely evil because humans are complicated. In my case, I mostly think like a Never but commonly act like an Ever.
