  • This is the 1st attempt at starting my 1958 IH BTD640 crawler. Given to my by my late boss's widow, he was the last to drive this machine in 2000. He passed on the next year. Sold new by Fred Smith's of Basingstoke (just up the hill from Wallis & Stevens) to The Cliff Brothers, Bramley, a local farming family who let their land to GB Foot in 1984. This crawler was placed in the dispersal sale but bought back in by Richard Foot for sentimental reasons. It has only ever been used for drilling or harrowing on the clay capped soils. I started work as an apprentice plant mechanic where we had 2 of the later TD8 versions and did a lot of work to both of them over the years!
