Estuve allí... y jamás ví y sentí una cosa igual. No se trata del gusto por el rock o esa banda en particular, solamente... Es un fenómeno social y cultural en torno al Indio y "los redondos"... Un fenómeno de masas y hasta un objeto de culto. Nunca voy a olvidar ese día... Gracias "los redondos", Gracias Indio!!!

A ese recital, el último del INDIO que fué en la ciudad de Olavarría donde viven 120.000 personas, se calcula que fuimos unas 500.000 personas. Y vamos desde todo nuestro país y desde otros países. Viajamos y caminamos muchas otras para ir a ver a nuestro máximo ídolo en la música. Nosotros les llamábamos misas cuando íbamos a esos recitales. A veces íbamos 3 días antes de sus shows. Increíbles previas antes del show. Increíbles el show. Increíble todo lo que generaba el gran INDIO Solari. Nunca nadie generó ni vá a generar tanto amor y tanta pasión por un artista!! Gracias INDIO, gracias Los Redondos, gracias Los Fundamentalistas por ser parte de mi vida ❤
La gran misa...esa es la frase y no va a ver nada parecido...los redondos y el indio únicos....esa era la entrada al predio donde fue el concierto...me acuerdo y se llenan los ojos de lágrimas....saludos

They are coming from all over Argentina, Chile, Peru, and most the countries that limit with Argentina, but most are local to our country.
People quit jobs to see “El Indio”, driving using buses and hitchhiking to get there.
I was there and what I can tell you is nothing, you have to be there if not you will say “you liyinng to me”.

Hi, D, you need to know a few things:
- "Olavarría" is the name of the town, and it's an small one.
- "Recital" is the way argentinians refers to a "concert".
- The people (I was one of them) went from all over Argentina, by cars, trucks and many buses, and arrived in Olavarría early that day, so we were "camping" near to the buses area, making barbecues, eating, drinking, listening "Indio Solari" and "Redondos" music, playing guitar, etc. In Argentina this is known as "Misa ricotera": is like a mass, everyone is happy and friendly. Then, we all went to the concert area by the same street, because it was an straight way.
- Many people from Olavarría were in their houses, selling drinks, food and memorabilia to attendees, and even letting them use their bathrooms (such a nice people!).
- The negative note was two guys were retired from the crowd in the middle of the concert because of suffocation, and they died later that night 😔. That change the energy of the concert, and I believe they decided to play more soft songs from that moment to make it more safe.
- When the concert was over the exit was a real chaos, it was like getting into a funnel. The street was too narrow for the amount of people coming out from the concert. Some people were walking over the cars' roof to have a chance to breathe. It's a miracle nobody died by suffocation there.
- In my opinion, not the best concert of Indio, but, by far, it was the one with the biggest crowd.

No hace publicidad El Indio,por eso es una misa, se dice el lugar y esto es de boca en boca, cuando llega el momento allí se está, se llega como sea y de todos los lugares. Lamentablemente ya no se hacen estas "misas" El Indio, esta un poco enfermo... pero sigue vigente y nosotros nos recreamos, recordando, viendo estos vídeos.

When Indio calls their fans to one of his "Ricoterian Mass"... we hit the road a couple of days before in airplanes, cars, buses, and if we don't have a dime, our thumb is the ticket to ride, hitchhiking. And we go -mínimum- two days before as I said up, for meet with our bros & sis of Creed. We share food, tents, wine, hugs, memories of former concerts, phone numbers, fbks, instag, meanwhile we are waiting for the night of the Mass. Hours "before the bell call us", we begin to gather ourselves. No orders needed, no. We know what and how to do this Mass be the Comunion (common union) of hundred of thousands fans become a just one soul with the others... and Indio.
Each Mass got the same spirit that inspired Woodstock... but of an unique band.
The "Alfa" of this history were "Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota" and the "Omega", "Indio Solari y Los Fundamentalistas del Aire Acondicionado".
There no be another musician and poet like him.!
P.S.:
"Redonditos de Ricota" are a kind of pastes filled with a italian cheese known as 'ricota'.
The second name was used -after the first band separated- to identify the new group and it's a kind of joke -or absurd- and the explanation would be too long and hard to understand 'cause it involved a lot of 'blinks' and 'argentinian cultural species. So sorry.

Nosotros los argentinos le decimos "la previa" tambien es una fiesta antes de empezar el show .La gente del lugar aprobecha a vender comida y bebidas . Hay gente de distintos lugares de argentina .uruguay .etc que viajan para escuchar al indio . Aveces viajan dias antes y acampan .Los fans bailan y cantan en hermandad es hermoso.y único 😍

En Junín caminé @6 kilómetros, en Olavarría caminé entre ida y vuelta 8 horas, viajando en total 19 hs. . Con total felicidad por supuesto....Él merece eso y mucho más...

From its beginnings in the 1970s, Patricio Rey y sus Redonditos de Ricota were a rather theatrical rock group because there were poets, strippers and circus artists. For this reason, no company wanted to record an album of theirs, and that is how Lito Vitale sponsors them and helps them record and edit their first album "GULP!"
After the success they decide to be independent artists and be their own managers and producers of shows.
Which was a great countercultural decision for the time, since to the Malvinas War all music in the English language was prohibited and all the record companies were desperate to contract musical groups, giving them publicity in all the media.
However Los Redondos never made massive publicity but it was more comments among friends and acquaintances that Los Redonditos played such a day in such a place and we all went to see them.
Until 1984 they were a theatrical rock group until they began to play in the underground circuit of places where rock was heard and there they already left aside the theatricality to become a rock band and their audience also changed, which was rather bohemian by rock and roll people.
El Indio (voice), Skay Beilison (guitar), La Negra Poli (producer) were the only survivors of Patricio Rey and his Redonditos de Ricota, later called Los Redondos or Los Redonditos.
And so they created their own record label, they made their own recording studio and their own show production company.

"L'etoile Disco" de San Carlos, Pcia de Santa Fé (17/08/1996) fue cuando con mi amigo JOJO, las paredes del boliche estaban mojadas, en el pogo fue divertido, y ese día que en particular fue épico, después de cantar el himno, el publico o sea nosotros y la banda determinó que ji ji ji, sería el cierre de cada recital. hoy lo recuerdo con añoranza y alegría, nos cagamos de frío durmiendo en un campito cerca de la terminal jajajajajaj que época

El recital de la ciudad de Tandil, superó la cantidad de habitantes que viven en ese lugar, porque muchas viajan de distintas partes del pais para verlo, muchos podran odiar su musica, pero más envidia les da, la gente que convoca de diferentes estratos sociales, el indio ya tiene más de 70 años y sufre de Parkinson, lamento no ir a verlo
