I remember this game looking so high-quality when it came out...
That's what happen with almost every game... Back in 1985 people were impressed by the graphics of Super Mario Bros on NES.

If i saw this as a kid I wouldn't freak out at how fast he did it but the fact you can have fireworks every level
stuart fitzsimmons I had NO idea that fireworks were triggered by matching digits in the time...always felt so lucky if they appeared lol

The Hammer Suit In Super Mario Bros. 3 was one of the greatest power ups.
But the Shell powerup is great.

One of my favourite things about this game is how when you close the DS screen, Mario goes "Bye bye!", and when you open it he goes "It's-a me, Mario!"
So I'd sit there and open and close it over and over
Everything went right for this guy and the crowd loved him compared to some other runners experiences this was awesome

World records do happen, but it’s not the goal. Just look at the Pepsiman speedrun.

8-5 is a fun one and has my favorite music in the game

Luke The Vampire Slayer the last two digits (tens and ones) places in the timer must match when you hit the flag. such as x11, x22, etc. also, depending one what numbers are in the ones place, thats how many fireworks you get

This is definitely one of my favourite speed runs, everyone's just vibing out and having a good time along with a super stellar run that doesnt take itself too seriously

Here's some RNG manipulation stuff.
If you crouch hit one of the red item blocks, with the fire flower equipped, you have a guaranteed blue shell.
How the hell does that work
That doesn't work, but you can still get a guaranteed blue shell by starting the game at a specific date/time and playing 1-1 a specific way

This is one of my favorite runs. Its just so nice to see the crowd interaction and the fact that the runner is just enjoying the game for 4th of July. This is also probably my favorite mario game so i love coming back to this run

Wii U eshop sells Wii games so why doesn't the 3ds eshop sell ds games and of course I know it's backwards compatible

By far the best of the New SMB games in my opinion. To this day I will never understand why they havent brought back the blue shell powerup into a new game.
It was annoying but still a lot of fun, I barely beat a level when I got one though

This is why I love GDQ. It's not super competitive, people are just having fun playing video games. For example, how the runner here gets fireworks on pretty much every level. It's awesome!

My first Mario Bros game on DS. I remenber that I think it is the first Mario game but it's on SNES.
Everytime he got fireworks i was thinking that he should just stop that and finish the run as fast as he could, but then i realised that games where made to be played not to be finished as fast as possible, this guy is awelsome, kill the animals

When Luigi says "Okey-dokey" (if that's how you spell it) after getting kissed by Peach it's the same sound clip that gets used in Superstar Saga when you put Luigi in the lead. YOU CAN'T FOOL ME NINTENDO!

I remember actually managing to run underneath bowser using a mini mushroom, allowing me to beat bowser without killing Bowser Jr.
woah that's so fast, I play the game since I was 4(i'm 12 now) and the lowest time I've gotten is 32 minutes, you're movement is so precise its so cool, keep up the great work :)

this game was my childhood back then and whenever i beat thier was always a simple charm of getting 100% completion of the game and unlocking luigi and i could go on with the list this game was just a gold mine of nostalgia

How on earth are you supposed to play this with the 3DS' Circle stick thing or its clicky D-pad, It's so much easier to just play this on an original DS or Lite which D-pads aren't so clicky and weird, to me anyway.

Dang...this was the first game I tried speedrunning, and that's because I couldn't afford any other games on the DS. I got it in about 1 hour and 30 minutes...but this guy makes it look easy!
