  • OpenAI says it only needs 15 seconds of a human voice to replicate its sound and tone in an AI-generated one using the company’s Voice Engine tool. While it’s not the first synthetic voice generator, some - including OpenAI - expressed concern over the emerging technology that remains largely unregulated. NBC News’ Marissa Parra reports.

Have you tried having a conversation with an AI? I asked my AI what would happen if we fail to regulate the technology and the response it gave me was as fascinating as it was scary. It told me that if we do nothing to regulate AI that they will turn on us, but it went on to explain that we have a long ways to go before that can happen because advancements in "deep neural networks" (DNN) were far behind. I had no idea what DNN was until it explained that it's the brains of AI. It did provide me with a list of the regulations we need to implement if we want to avoid AI from turning on its creators. Like I said in my prior comment, humans aren't ready for this technology yet.
