  • The Kong Classic for dogs is a marvellous device that allows you to stuff it with something that sticks to the inside and then to offer to your dog so that it remains both mentally and physically occupied for a good while.
Here's a link to Amazon, where you can buy your own at the normal price: amzn.to/39HROfI
Should your dog become an expert 'Konger', then you could stuff it as usual and then drop it into a bag and freeze it - this is likely to double the time it takes for your dog to empty it!
As you can see in the video, I was able to fit about a quarter of a pack of the wet food inside the Kong and so for Ruby, that means she could eat all of her daily food allowance spread over four Kongs, and that would take her about 40 minutes if they were soft or about 90 minutes if they were frozen. You could time the provision of the Kong to coincide with a conference call if working from home, when you prepare and eat your own meals, or when leaving your dog alone for sensible periods, or even a mini version if you're leaving a young dog alone in its crate at night.
I have used these Kongs for many years in my dog behaviour work and they have helped many a dog overcome issues such as separation anxiety, or the relief of boredom and to drain physical and mental energy.
I hope you like the video and enjoy watching Pip and Ruby getting stuck in!

Your videos are so helpful! My bichon frise is rather stubborn and I have let her down by not being consistent with my training due to my own mental health and grieving from my mums passing. She feels that it's perfectly acceptable to climb on the table and "finish off the food". She's not consistent with lying down/ sitting. She was 1 in september. She is awaiting an operation to have to have an extra tooth removed as well and find her still quite destructive. Would I start right back to how I would for a puppy? Any advice on the table situation and her being destructive? I love the idea of feeding her meals in a Kong- she loves hers with carrot, cream cheese and natural yogurt too (I also freeze hers), she currently has the pastel pink puppy but would she now be big enough for the red Kong? Have you got any cleaning tips? Thankyou!

Thank you! I put my Kongs in the dishwasher from time to time, or just let it soak in very hot water for a time. How old is your dog? Check out my Puppy Training Journey videos if below one year old or thereabouts a dyes, start from there. Dogs have a lovely ability to change and improve their behaviours as most want to please you.

Thanks for the upload. Very helpful. What do you think of the kong squirty cheese etc that's often sold along with the kong itself?

I'm not a big fan as the ingredients are a bit suspect IMO. Better to make your own with more natural ingredients available to you. Thanks
