Girl groups nowadays focus more on fancier and more complex choreos and outfits to get more attention. It's more like who has the best outfit, fastest choreo and not the most talent or stage presence. Sometimes, I feel like girl groups nowadays compensate their lack of talent and charm with fancy things.
now i get it why they say the newer gen groups lost something that the earlier gen groups had newer gens might have more complicated dance choreos. music production also more extensive. but theres something i cant explain that the earlier gen groups did better with those live vocals and every members shining, i would have stan them hard if i had been into kpop back in their time
as an older kpop fan, i do think the 4th gen girlies are insanely talented, but there's just something about the confidence, the ENERGY of my favorite older groups that i love and miss :') this kinda moment 3:39 i can't picture happening on a music show these days anymore. the new girls are way more polished, even their small hand movements are choreographed and rehearsed, almost like they're afraid to make facial expressions that are too big
I think the newer gen focuses more on sharp choreography which let's less of their members shine individually. The members hardly stand out. They also prioritize dancing over singing. There are hardly no outstanding vocalists like previous gens
The old ones focuses on vocals. Na vocals is at par with dancing. Now dancing is more dominant compromising the vocals huhu. Also, i think genz like more active songs thats why the music is evolving too.
what really makes sistar outstanding as a group is that they genuinely enjoy every performance which makes them so authentic and likeable, their energy on stage is unmatched
I've missed SISTAR. They've thrived since disbanding, but seeing them together is just amazing! I do admire the hardwork that the newer gens put into their craft, but there's something about the charisma of the older gen groups. They filled this stage and I'm amazed at how they could perfrom so well being full---I mean they obviously just ate all their CDs! :p

What Starship failed to see is that Dasom's new lines actually make the members shine even more. Not only does Dasom do it well, she also provides contrast to Soyou and Hyolyn's delivery of their parts. It also makes the performance feel more balanced.

Soyou mentioned how she was so bothered by her mistakes after the performance in her vlogs (subscribe to SOYOUGI!!!) She forgot to sing her bit at around 2:47, but that just shows how they really are singing live here. She prolly just got confused because there were part changes to give Dasom more lines. This also just shows that Dasom could have had more lines back then and everybody would've enjoyed their songs just as much if not more.
How lucky are we to even have this? Incredible performance too. Really wish this era of female kpop was represented more. They deserve it, they still rule now!
Newer groups’ ultra complicated dance routines, while visually a treat for the audience, took a toll on the members themselves. Not all of them, a few from each group are clearly born to be performers, but a majority of them failed to establish a real connection with the audience due to them concentrating SO hard to avoid making any mistakes which if happens would give both the member and the group scrutiny. Older groups, whose choreography was infinitely more simple, in turn has more time to showcase their vocals and really bait the audience to not just watch but also be there with their performance. Not for nothing that nowadays close to no group ever performed with handmics anymore - too inconvenient for their complex routines that sometimes involve them to literally get on all fours on the floor.
When we talk about SISTAR, we also have to talk about how the girl groups from the 2nd generation are so beautiful and full of memories. I'm from 2010's era 😭❤
