The city of Sárbogárd in the Central Transdanubia region, in the southern part of Fejér county, is the seat of the Sárbogárd district. It is the fourth most populous city in the county and the largest settlement in Transdanubia.
The first mention of the present center of the city, Bogárd, dates from 1323, the landlord, István Bogárdi, was a Besenyő noble. Even in the 14th century, another (also Besenyő) settlement appeared, Tinód, which is now part of the city.
Sárbogárd város a Közép-Dunántúl régióban, Fejér megye déli részén, a Sárbogárdi járás székhelye. A megye negyedik legnépesebb városa és a Dunántúl legnagyobb területű települése.
A város mai központjának, Bogárdnak az első említése 1323-ból való, földesura, Bogárdi István besenyő nemes volt. Még a 14. században jelent meg egy másik (szintén besenyő) település, Tinód is, amely ma a város része.
