Wow what an excellent video with great explanations! Thanks James!
I have pain on the side of my ankle, I believe it was from a sudden ankle move I made the other day while walking on a uneven terrain

Liked and subscribed. The most comprehensive explanation I've heard yet about all the likely causes of ankle pain.
I am suffering from outer ankle pain at the moment. It was the most unlikely incident that caused it. I was only walking around my bed in the dark and lost my balance, which seemed to cause me to put all of my weight on the outside edge of my right foot. I didn't feel at the time like I had rolled the ankle. Anyway I walked as normal on it for a week or so and it seemed to be settling down, but it's flared up again. I do a lot of walking. I also feel a lot of unusual tightness in my calf which I have been foam rolling.
It so happens I have a podiatry appointment in a few days for other issues. Would they be able to help me with the ankle problem do you think? Should I go to the trouble of going to the minor injuries clinic for an x ray?
The fact that I'm able to weight bear and walk on it would seen to suggest that it's not serious, but it's uncomfortable and I don't want to make it any worse.
