    I bought an Olympus Af1 with the really sharp 35mm 2.8 lens. £20 for a fun camera I don't have to worry about.

    Love the AF-1so much, I have three of them :-) One regular, one Super and one Super with data back.
    Still great value for money. And so nice to be able to use it in the rain without worrying too much.
    And yeah, the flash is great!

    How are portraits on this camera compared to other point and shoots? And did you say there is a portrait mode?

    • @AaronFleming
      @AaronFleming Před 5 lety +1

      They're not far off the contax T2 at all. I know the picture of Jess is the only one in natural light in this video but you can see from that that it's great quality. I actually meant portrait mode in the sense of flash whereby if someone is close to the camera the flash doesn't flash as brightly

    My AF-1 is about to arrive tomorrow. You stated that you can turn the flash off. Is this correct? I heard the flash is always on auto and you can't manually turn off the flash.

    • @AaronFleming
      @AaronFleming Před 5 lety

      Yeah so my af1 has a flash button up top on which I can set it to fill, backlight correct, auto, constant or off. What versions of the af1 do you have? Does it look like this one or look older and what lens does it have

    I've just brought this camera as my first point and shoot camera and it's my first time working with film. Is there any reason you use the film you did and not something like a colorplus 200 or a fujicolor c200? I'm so confused on what's best for these cameras. Any help or suggestions from anyone would be really appreciated

    • @AaronFleming
      @AaronFleming Před 5 lety +2

      Congrats on the camera! I use Kodak gold for two reasons, it's cheap and I just really like the colours. If you have a look through my channel you'll see videos I did with colorplus and Fuji c200 and you kind of just need to decide what look you like the best. Remember the colours of an image are due to a film and the sharpness etc. are due to the camera or lens

      @@AaronFleming you gem! I'll do that today. Thank you for letting me know, I'll check through previous videos to see and I'll decide from there.

      @cc_baxter Před 2 lety

      @@AaronFleming thats not true though. Film stocks definitely differ in sharpness and graininess. And if you're shooting a point and shoot then the only way you intentionally change the sharpness of the image (besides pulling focus properly) is by changing film stock.
