- This is the only twin motor window air conditioner by Hitachi. its a 5Star variant and is only available in 1.5Ton. Although the machine cools very fast but due to presence of second motor it is a little noisy and vibrates too. i was unlucky since my first ac developed some manufacturing snag within 2 months of installation, but Hitachi replaced my AC altogether with a new one.
One more request. This video shows the machine. Can you make a video about unique features, how is noise of AC, how is performance of the AC and tell if it has helped reduce electricity consumption ?
It's not a great AC I have this one..very very fine dust settles nd cant b. Removes widout a pressure cleaner

@Arthur Rider I dont know which part of India you come from. i was in Delhi while i was using this model and trust me this is the best AC for EXTREME hot regions where temps go above 40 deg C. back then in 2016 when i was planning to buy AC, 1.5T window AC were available from Rs25000 onwards brands like Voltas, LG and Godrej but then what made me think was that with same specifications how can a manufacturer sell a product almost Rs8000 more expensive then the competition, there had to be some sense, since India is an extremely price sensitive market. then i looked around in houses in delhi and indeed i realized that Hitachi window AC are among the highest selling brands.
coming to the AC, this model comes with twin motor, which has a special reason behind it. in regular AC's, the blower and the condenser fan are usually mounted on the same motor, so in case you want to run the cooling blower at a lower speed to keep the noise low inside the room, it would directly affect your cooling since the rear condenser fan would also be running slow as they are mounted on the same motor, there by leading to lower heat transfer from the rear condenser coil and poor cooling. this problem has been taken care of in the twin motor Hitachi model since it has two motor, both run independently. the turbo mode in this AC is bombastic, i have not seen another window ac with so much air throw.
one suggestion is try and use the 3M paper AC filtrete irrespective of brand, as this cheap little product saves a lot of AC cleaning hassle and there by drop in cooling quality and maintenance costs.
Really sir I have used this one for 8yrs don't know why I showing it it's cleaning is difficult it was expensive by all.means nd since I don't know the technicalities nd looters outside today in top floor I sit in heat not knowing what to do with it not cooling
.running but not cooling...only if you know sincere technician is a electronic item.good ultimately ..they ruin it further otherwise..nobody knows where the condensor is

If you look closely you will notice that this model has two motors, one for condenser and one for evaporator and they run independently...
Which refrigerant is used in this ac? Summer tm? R32 Or R 22 ?
Main unit condensor coil is of aluminum or copper?
My this ac is 6years old and so its r22 but i bought another one last year(single motor model), that one is r32. Both ac have 100% copper, afterall you pay premium price too
@@chiradip24 my summer tm has lcd of summer qc and remote is also not matching with the older model.
@@Anonymous-xt2gn you can check with the Hitachi website, they should have exact details... i would not know since my recent ac is a different model
What is the model year of your ac? Is the ac working fine till now or has there been any issue? Can i get the parts of this ac if there has been any damage?
@@Anonymous-xt2gn I bought the AC shown in this video in the year 2016, model RAT518HUD with R22 gas. if you see my other video on this same ac, it had developed a noise issue in the motors after 3 months of usage, Hitachi replaced my complete unit in 20days with a new one. But mind you then i was living at Delhi, so parts and warranty would be a location specific issue.
Is there anything which we have to remove except wooden block...plz rply
If we not remove the wooden block is there any problem to compresser .....plz reply ..
you should remove the wooden block, since the compressor is sitting on rubber feet which allow it to vibrate and dampen vibration while it is running. by keeping the wooden block anyways would not help as the compressor would make a lot of noise and eventually it might lead to internal damage
I own RAV518HUD,STOPPED coolong in 2nd summer season .Please do not invest in Hitachi's these models. thank you!
Exactly they were defective their remotes r defective too
.second season they stopped..India has no strict rules for allowing second third rates stuff being shoved into the country try

I also own the same ac.. tell me one thing when it was unboxed there was a wood block under the compressor... do I need to remove it?
Yes there was a wooden block but i removed it before installation. it is to support the compressor, while being transported.
Chiradip my unit was installed 2days back.. but the wooden block is still there... my entire system is making bad noise... don't know what to do...
you need to remove the wooden block and once when you do take out the AC for removal of wooden block, check tightening of all the screws on the cover plate and around. one more thing is that while installing the outer body of the AC you need to make sure sure that it is slightly inside the room and not sitting on the holes which are given on the outer body. i had to do this because i was also facing this issue of noise in my AC. you need to make sure that the AC is atleast 3-4 inches inside the room excluding the face plate.

I hope you guys enjoy the AC, let me assure you, you have well spent your hard earned money. as suggested keep the condenser(cooling coil) clean by cleaning the filter and condenser with a toothbrush and soap water (Make suer you do it very carefully not to bend the fins!!).
I will be putting the video of my previous AC which had developed a noise issue and was replaced under warranty by Hitachi. my love and respect towards the brand for doing this. and mind you the complete case was dealt by Hitachi and not my local dealer.

Worst AC and Company is Perfect Gujrati money minded. SPARES OF
THESE MODELS ARE INFERIOR QUALITY AND COMPANY CHARGES VERY HIGH RATES OF THESE SPURIOUS SPARES. WITHIN 1 MONTH THERE TWIN DC MOTOR GOT FAILED AND SAME PROBLEM CAME IN ALL AC PURCHASED BY MY KNOWING PERSON.Now after warranty period again it failed and cost is arround 10000/- to replace. Now it is mere piece of JUNK.

Clean air filter and front Evaporator fins with clean water and tooth brush. Take out the complete AC and check the rear for and dead dirt or dead animal.
