    In this video, Nurse Taran will demonstrates one of the possible sequences for donning and doffing PPE. PPE is designed to protect nurses & other healthcare workers when working around potentially hazardous & infectious agents.

    This is an important nursing skill that often appears in you NCLEX exam. The nurses and nursing students will need to learn, especially when working with certain patient populations or high risk areas.
    Although, there can be variety of ways that your agency or Health Region can dictate donning & doffing of PPE but one of the possible sequence is demonstrated here for donning PPE, is the gown first, then the mask or respirator, the goggles or face shield, and finally, the gloves. Remember, you should perform hand hygiene before and during the donning process, as demonstrated.
    When doffing PPE, the sequence demonstrated by Nurse Taran in this video is gloves first, then goggles or face shield, then gown and then the mask or respirator in the end. Remember, you should perform hand hygiene during the doffing process as well.
    Please note: PPE donning and doffing sequences can and do sometimes change, so it's important to always follow the latest protocols set by your healthcare facility.
