My father would grow cucuzzi, sometimes up to 40, also in Brooklyn. It would grow up the clothesline ladder. Came looking for a recipe as I grew my first cucuzza since I haven't had it in years or made it before, this is perfect thank you! This makes me think of my parents so much :) Making it today. Great video!

Great video! Makes me miss my nonna. Haven't had this dish since she passed away. I hope to start this tradition with my kids now.

I agree, my nonna and nonno and my mother, Sicilians....cooked veggies until they were beyond dead....wasn't a fan growing up but yes that is exactly how they grew up making veggies...my nonna and mother used to use broken pasta as well

This is great I will send it to my nice Sicilian friend who gave me a cucuzza yesterday, so she learns some English, which might come in handy since her daughter is dating an Irishman.

My dear Rossella, my father used to make this recipe. I haven’t had it in over 20 years and I plan to make it soon. I enjoy all your shows and love all your Nona’s. Keep up the good work. Ciao.

What an interesting video. I love that the nonna spoke in Italian. I never saw this type of squash and I thought it was interesting that the leaves are edible. Excellent video Rosella👍🙋🏻💖

Most wild greens are edible. But not really. Not until you cook them until tender and add flavor mixing them with other ingredients. Lol

Do you know if cucuzza is the same vegetable sold in India grocery stores gia? They look very similar and are both gourd vegetables.

I love cucuzza, and this is a very good video. Delicious! But for a good laugh, put on closed captioning. Quite possibly the worst I've ever seen. If you're actually deaf, it probably won't be much use to you.
