See Amtrak Cascades trains as they sweep along the shores of Puget Sound and through the lush farm land of the Willamette River Valley. A
at 8:55 when the BNSF went in front of Mount Rainier was absolutely beautiful. Videos like these prove why you deserve to be the most popular railfan on youtube. Excellent work.
I Love The Whistle at 0:08, especially since I rode behind The locomotive Wearing it.
That Sound Trainsit cab car at 12:44 had a K5LA that reminds me of an ACE cab car horn
I was born and raised in Oregon, and I had no idea of the number of different trains that went through Oregon. A most delightful 16 minutes. Very professionally done and thank you!
I’ve never heard 4449 sound so good
I know I was happy to see the Locomotive in person
1:01 gunshots in the old west be like
Pow HaHa
1:02 love the horn
Incredible video! I love that shot of 4449 at 12:20!
1:41 most likey the rareset shot ever of EX BN units a great shot tbh
Great video! Thank you for show casing a place I love living so much!
13:33 I’m gonna miss the old F59PHI’s
fuck you, you dont care about the talgo 6 series getting moved to storage or getting scrapped? Rude
@@Xany_BS DAMN CHILL!
I remember the day this video came out
I have another idea bright line trains
11:31 Yep, Amtrak 467 derailed in July 2nd at steliacoom, because this locomotive has heavy maintenance for Beach Grove In.
0:09 to 0:33 the horn is nostalgia for me
Just gonna say it, the cascade green machines still look the best. Glad there's a few un-patched examples still moving tonnage.
Eric Sundell Those are Amtrak Cascade trains.
SheeWantsAJaayy yeah he said cascade
In the northwest, BNSF should have all units in BN green. It just fits the region so well.
Of all the regions in the United States, the Pacific Coast is one that I truly want to go sometime in my life. As a nature and cultural enthusiast (I'm an East Asian- China, Korea, Japan- enthusiast, since they're located just on the other side of the Pacific Ocean) states that border the Pacific Ocean (Or surrounded by it: Hawaii), the most massive, and majestic body of water on Earth, are places that I absolutely dream of traveling to. The Pacific Northwest, in particular, has some of the most majestic landscapes in the country. Vast mountains, pristine forests, and majestic coastlines. I hope to come here someday.
*Very nice. Thanks!*
Greetings from Australia. Superb quality video as always showing the trains of an area of the USA where I would have enjoyed living with its magnificent geography and geology etc. Lucky people whose houses overlook Juan de Fuca Sound.
0:35 I thought the Rocky Mountaineer only had one route from Banff to Vancouver!
1:38 nice catch of two BN locomotives doubleheading! I've always seen them with either a santa fe or BNSF locomotive, or just sitting in the yard!
2:22 nice catch of 7 UP engines at the front!
2:23 that's the most log cars I've seen being pulled by a diesel!
7:59 nice catch of a BN SD60M leading! I like its horn!
9:04 that's quite a lot of single stack containers in double stack cars! Those containers all look unusual!
9:39 that's quite a short train! a few minutes ago, you showed us a Sounder train with 7 cars!
10:12 what type of horn is that? It seems odd that a 1990s (or later) locomotive would have that horn!
10:37 nice catch of a C40-8W in new paint!
11:34 that's how I'm used to seeing BN power- paired with an ATSF loco! Nice to see them move an Amtrak F59PHI!
12:16 nice catch of 4449 pulling only its aux tender! Nearly every video I've seen of 4449 has always carried at least one passenger car!
They also have a route into Washington State.
10:12 That locos an Mp40 and since 90% of GO Transits (my local commuter train) fleet is made up of these I can tell you. Most of their horns sound like that.
Fouled... It's your everyday k5la besides that
@Wilfstor It's a K5CA-LS, which are mandated on passenger locomotives in Canada. However, all but 3 MP40s were bought by GO, so they have K5CAs.
love that stretch of tracks along puget sound. been on it many times. good video
0:39 trainz simulator railroad 2019 have this train in the game :v
Amazing video! You covered all the good spots and railroads in the PNW!
I just came back from a Rocky Mountaineer trip. Best trip ever and I loved it! Now that’s coming from a 12 year old. I recommend it and it is totally worth it.
Nice complication of motor power and freight/passenger cars. Thanks for sharing. 🚂
5:07 the golden thing on the top is its air horn
Great compilation! I saw a few of my favorite spots in there. Glad to see them on this video.
Excellent video! Love all the scenery in the videos

Pacific Northwest trains are unique. Each train has a different paint scheme and a different logo which is cool to see
Incase you didn’t see the brand of the first one it’s rocky mountaineer
Have a Happy Friday
What's the rocky mountaineer doing down that way? I thought they only ran in Canada?
They run every Saturday down to Seattle from Vancouver.
That's so cool
2:25 7 Engines!!!!! Dang
Loli pop up oopuiiiouyyu
I was born in Washington so great to see some Washington trains
Finally! Some trains in Oregon where I live!
im above you in washington
@@Xany_BS oh heck😳🥣🌝
when you pause at 36 that train is a replacement for 2816
I'm so jealous you get to see so many amazing trains
That BNSF and the Amtrak gave a good horn show
7:57 Wow great horn
To be honest in 12:44, Cabcar 106's K5LA on Sounder sounds like the ACE's (Altamont Express Corridor) K5LA
They both have bombardier cars
ahahahaha that horn on the bnsf locomotive
Awesome video! The Columbia River Gorge has some really nice places such as Horsethief Lake State Park in Washington where trains are visible for miles.
Thanks! The Gorge is the one place I probably should have gone more for this video. Oh well, next time!
Remember when coaster train 663 departed old town I rember all of your old videos my friend.
.
Y si y
Great Video! Just adding, Seattle also has the light rail system that runs from the airport all the way up to university of Washington.
That's true - more for next time! Thanks!
I love the beginning because it is peaceful
Excellent, that's what I was going for!
Great shots, Mike! Well done.
Still a great video!! Thanks Mike from Europe.
Well done Mike! A very nice video - I love the scenic introduction and coda - gives a real feel for the area covered. Also so great that you'd found so many locations to film not near to level crossings - it was nice to be able to hear the locomotives without horns or crossing bells. Personally I would have liked to see the whole train on slightly more occasions; also it would be nice if you could add a small caption stating where and when you were filming - ie Everett WA, June 5th 2017 - just subtle and in one corner.
Thank you very much, Bevis! The nice thing about the Pacific Northwest is that there are many different spots you can go that aren't near railroad crossings - a much more difficult feat in southern California!

Great video!
6:26 Great Train Horn
Some really beautiful scenery up there. Great to see an awesome new video!
👍👍
video quality and locations are superb!!
Are Coaster (SDNX) and Sounder (SDRX) related in some way?
Not related, just similar reporting marks.
Pure railfanning. No shots of the Oregon Coast railway?
Oregon Coast Scenic will be coming later this year. Stay tuned!
Hammonds Lumber Company 17 wears the whistle of Mount Rainier scenic Porter 2-8-2 #5 which is in storage awaiting a restoration along with climax Hillcrest Lumber co. #10 Heisler #91 and Lima Shay Pickering Lunber co. #11 currently the only other engines operating on the Mount Rainier Scenic Railroad is Polson Logging Company 2-8-2 #70 and the Wilmette Rainier Shay #2
i like it
that bnsf coal train in the video came from where I live Memphis tennessee
Me: *hears the whistles from here and looks around* It sounds like a Steam Engine to me, I love Steam Engines.
👌 👌 👌
Hehe, I have many questions Mike, lol.
What happened at 11:31? Is rocky mountaineer a tourist railroad or a commuter train? And is the lead unit a wide nose SD40-2? Great video! Good catch on those BN leaders.
It's a tourist railroad. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocky_Mountaineer
Locomotive is an ex-CN GMD GP40-2LW. Only the Canadian versions of the wide cab featured on Geeps and SDs have the four(sometimes 3) piece window.
It’s a tourist railroad and cost 10000 dollars to go on
Coastline Cruiser Then I will never ride on that excuse of a tourist rail.
The train at 11:31 is Amtrak F59 467 being dragged back up to Seattle from Steilacoom following a derailment last summer. The Rocky Mountaineer is a tourist train. The leader is a wide cab GP40. Thanks!
I live just SW of Portland OR. I see a lot of the trains shown in this video!
Kkkklklllllll
I love it sooooooo much 👍🏽
Woah, those are some cool trains! Great video! Keep up the good work! :)
I love your videos!!
I Am probably your only fan that lives In Vancouver...
I live in Vancouver too. I love the Chelatchie Prairie RR; it's so historic and goes through beautiful scenery.
Nope
Jam T so do I
No I also live in Vancouver and Amtrak Cascades are sometimes common to see.
Excellent video, great compilations!
Cool Video
nice!!
Nice catches man
0:34 what train is this.
With all their hydropower, it would be awesome to power trains in the PNW with catenary.
1:01 is fire k5lla
Wonderful
Awesome Video Mike
Nice video 👍😁😊
nice ....thanks bor
Fantastic gets man.
Beautiful camerawork. 👌😉👏
Great video
Must be a huge train if it needs 7 engines. Also great recording your camera is very still...thanks 4 that and have you ever caught a train hopper on film?
Awesome video!
This was a great birthday present, come to think of it.
Another great video! I’m not a huge fan of those Talgo cab cars, though.
Neither am I...
Same. I like their surfliner Calicars alot though!
Jacob Hofer I love them, but I am sad that Wisconsin fell through on their deal with Talgo
The Wisconsin color scheme looked a lot worse
Awesome video. 👍👍👍🤘🏼
