I own both, and enjoy the hell out of both. I like how they're similar DNA wise when it comes to what they're cloning but different enough to where they don’t feel redundant.. especially with that dry down of SNOI.
Yeah you really can't go wrong with either.
I have both as well.
Both are a bit pungently citrus in the opening.
Afnan finishes a bit smoother, but that’s only truly detectable up very close.
It has that Oakmoss tinge at the end which Fragrantica describes as “animalic”.
I would agree.
Because of that, I’m limiting it to cooler weather wear
CDIM on the other hand, finishes to a lighter, drier and almost powdery ending by comparison. No animalic undertones here.
I wear it in warmer weather.
They are indeed very similar.

I wore the ''real deal'' and both of the selections you have in this video all last summer. I will say that the Afnan is a baseball bat to the nose IMO. Very strong with my chemistry!!! The Armaf is a little less overwhelming IMO. I really enjoy them both, so I take the middle road and wear them together from time to time. Thanks for another great upload, Gerard! Having SNOI, CDIM, Hacivat and Aventus I can confidentially say that to my nose the SNOI is closer to Hacivat with that mossy accord and the CDIM is a more exaggerated Aventus scent. All are very good and pleasant. I’m with you… I think the SNOI smells a bit more higher quality.

Afnan bottle looks so much better imo. I had a chance to smell it from my client the other day and I thought it was really good. Very good sillage. I'll definitely get Afnan for sure.

Hey Gerard, another great video 😊 I've had both of these fragrances and prefer the CDIM LE. My favourite Aventus clone is L'aventure by Al Haramain, have you tried that one?

I watched tons of videos on Aventus clones this week and narrowed it down to NOI, Silver, cdnm Le, and l'aventure intense. I wanted to get two that were like different, but my wallet won out the day when I realized the math vs actual Aventus. I just got NOI subsidized with rewards points on Amazon. Prolly would've been happy with any of my options, but comments about NOI stood out to me

Currently have the CDNIM Pure Parfum and it smells great. The same goes for Mont Blanc Explorer which I use for work.
Haven't tried the Afnan version.
I plan on getting a 50ml Creed Aventus cologne. I just enjoy the DNA.

I haven't smelled either, I only have Explorer as my go to Aventus clone. But after the incredible job they did with Supremacy in Oud, I'd guess the Not Only Intense would be the way to go!

I wore it recently, so good! Unfortunately I've had a bout of covid (first time) and a rebound case again. Lost taste and smell second time around. Still in isolation but today the taste and smell just started a bit to return. Unfortunately just received my bottle of 40 Knots and haven't had a chance to really smell it yet, ack!!!@@gerardgeorge
Interesting take. It's been a while since I had Supremacy because i gave away all my Aventus clones except CDN. I prefer the CDN but tbh I rarely wear it because of too many others with that scent. I much prefer to wear Hacivat (OG) and to me Supremacy is more Aventus than it is Hacivat. I do not think Cedrat Boise (OG or Intense) smells like Aventus, but others do, and if that's the case I'd rather wear that, hands down and Aventus can go scratch

To me is very easy, I like the smokier batches of Aventus, to me CDNI Limited Edition goes in that direction in the drydown so I don't care if the opening is different when at the end what we enjoy for more time is the drydown, Not Only Intense is the opposite, is more fruitier to me there is just a small hint of smoke and to be honest I think NOI is Aventus + something else in the dry down is not that straight forward an Aventus clone to me, so I think the choice will be based on what type of Aventus you like and to me the winner is CDNI LI .... good video GG!

If I have to throw my hat into the ring for one of them, I'm agreeing with you on the Afnan. I bought both out of spite because people wouldn't stip saying they were both identical to Aventus and I wanted to know for myself. They were definitely not identical to Aventus.
That said, the Armaf Parfum was like a sticky Aventus, it had a quality to it like a melted ice pop on top of Aventus, and while the Afnan is further away from the Aventus smell, it's also really pleasant on its own and I actually enjoy wearing it. That CDNIM LE PARFUM or whatever it is mostly collects dust on my shelf.
I really like that description. I haven't tried the le parfum but maybe I have? Its literally the most confusing lineup in fragrance.

I had both the CDNIM EDT and CDNIM Limited Edition.. for my taste they were to screechy, rough, and sharp. So I didn’t really care for them. But it does project and it’s a good value. It’s not Aventus buts it’s a good alternative. The Afnan one seems it would be nice seen it’s more smooth.
You are exactly right, they are rough and dry down is just so low quality. No idea why people hype it up, maybe want to rationalize their getting a cheap dupe of aventus

I own explorer and wanna try other aventus type fragrances but don’t really wanna oversaturate the collection so maybe I’ll try a different one when this bottle runs out

After 2-3 hours it disappears and you barely notice it. Performance is also minimal. It is very ovvious that different year badges have issues.
Mine is 12/2023 and I am not sure that its maceration and maturity will help in the future.

I have the CDNIM Limited Edition Parfum & did have the Afnan too but gave it to someone as a gift. For me the smell wasn't as appealing. Also got better projection, longevity, & smell off my skin from the CDNIM. But everyone has different opinions & can't go wrong with either of them.

I feel the main difference (IMHO) is the CDNIMLE has a musky, slightly smokey drydown. The Afnan NOI is far more oakmossy (slightly musky)
For me,the Armaf is nicer and gets waaaaaay more compliments

I have the original CDIM and all I use it for is to spray on a towel hanging on the bathroom wall to make it smell like I just mopped the floor. That is all that Aventus smells like to me is Pinesol floor cleaner.

Afnan feels much bolder to me, it’s dry down makes me nauseous though

@@gerardgeorge it’s the combination of sweetness plus smokiness is what gets me, they don’t go together. And it’s an intense smell. I love the opening though

I haven't smelt Afnan before but I have tried CDNIM LE on my skin. I have to scrub it off with soap right away. Maybe I have sensitive nose, but it smells like harsh lemon toilet cleaner to me. Same exact smell I get when I walk into a restroom when someone had just washed it with abrasive lemon cleaner. It's very synthetic and I can't stand it. People say it smells really good in the air, but I just can't do the opening at all. Now Banana Republic Black Walnut Legend, which is another Aventus clone, that I love, it's smooth and beautiful.
You aren’t the only one Shaun it’s rough in the opening. I also enjoy BWL great alternative to Aventus style.
Armaf CDNI Pure Parfum smells better than both imo, I sold my afnan cause it was too bitter and sour. The Armaf pure parfum, smells and performs like older creed batches so I ended up buying a back up bottle of pure parfum (12+ hour longevity with no synthetich opening) I do also own creed aventus but performance is only 6-7 hours…

Update way faster than I thought: I decided to play along at home and spray these on my arms side by side, and CDNIM LE Parfum is worse than I remember. This smells not very good.
