on Airees 1, ancient telemetry dishes, once used to scan the sector for danger, have fallen into disrepair in the background, looming over the simple farmer's cottage and his yellowblade fields... much of Airees 1 succumbed to psionic vibrations during the Shatter Wars, leaving most of the sky dark and the world drained of life... fortunately, this farmer found a healthy place to grow his food to keep him and his family alive during the Golden Age...
I feel like this picture represents modern reality more than anything else I can think of...

Huh.. certainly wouldn’t have made that connection myself at all, but… somehow, I see it. Can’t even put my finger on why or how but- I see it.
I felt this way a few days ago, on a bus going home, watching cattle grazing on the pastures between villages with a nuclear power plant in the background of it all :D

The backdrop is very thought provocative and fits the great atmospheric sounds. I can stare at the picture and listen to this forever.
Sure, if only in how absurd it is. What do you need radio telescopes that big to be on a pivot for? You could just have it built into the ground instead and not waste all that material on those monstrous towers. And why on Earth would you put three of these things in the same place? If being able to aim the things is so important to their purpose, you should spread them out around the planet instead of clustering them all in the same spot where half of their view is obstructed by the ground.

@@mlgsamantha5863 you do realize that there are radio telescope arrays that look like this IRL, right? Look up the Very Large Array.
