    Just bought one of these 2009, 9000miles, immaculate condition, only done 2000miles in the last 10 years! 111miles in the last 3. Returning biker, absolutely love it

    I run a Biffer 1000 usually 2 up with Givi full luggage regularly. My partner is 63 kg and I am 120 kg with aprox 11 kg of luggage . I found the bike power / weight is uneffected , well thats how it seems. It pulls in any gear even 6 th and accelerates with easy . Beautiful smooth power delivery, excellent mpg on average 50 + over 200 miles easy on full tank
    Mine bike is the CBF 1000 mk 2 ( 2011) done 21,000 miles.

      @stuartArmourer I could never get fuel economy like that but my use was much more stop, start in central London which ultimately led to selling it on. I was using it for the wrong purpose.

    I just bought a 2012 cbf. I watched all These cbf 1000 vids, they fail to mention comparitive elements to other bikes. One that shocked me was their weight and lack of nimble manuverability. My test ride was a suprise. Keep that in mind.. they look sweet but feel like a scaled down goldwing.

      It's a big lump but I quite like that. It feels grounded to me and reassuringly weighty.

      @Tom-ck1ed Před rokem +2

      I agree with you there, you can really feel the weight at slow speeds. It can be nimble, but tight u turns aren't its strong suit, and i find i always feel just on the verge of dropping it.

      Thank you for reassurance. Im sure it will be wonderful on the big fast highways when i tour.

    On the underside of the right hand switch gear you'll find two cross point machine screws, nip them up and that'll stop the switch and throttle rotating on the handle bar when you twist the throttle ;-)

    • @NatsNackersYard
      @NatsNackersYard  Před 2 lety

      No idea what you mean mate. Switch gear is solid. I think it's the heated grips that you can see turning with the throttle.

    Nat in central London noise cameras are in operation, so I'd leave well alone.
    From what I understand, the ignition antenna ring plugs into the back of the instrument cluster...but don't hold me to it.

    brilliant bikes, too bad there's no naked version of this 1000, I've got a 600n6, i ride it in 6th as low as 25mph, it does vibe a bit round 4-5k rpm but it's a bike and at least it doesn't rattle itself to pieces like the sv650 for example, the exhaust note is spot on from the standard cans, I've never had a more reliable and well built bike, mine has done 97k miles and has been in a few crashes, but still going strong, also I can take both my hands off the handlebars anytime on any road no issues, could be diferent caster angles

    They are great bikes you get a buzz at around 60mph and if you lift your hands off the bars it will shake quite badly and nobody can actually find out the reason for it

    Don’t spending much money on it you won’t keep it long , terrible bikes to much vibration, they actually call it the vibe at five 😆

    Im thinking of buying one to do regular Euro trips to visit family. How do you think it would be for this job?
    It’s either that or go the full hog on an FJR1300 or GTR1400 which I think might be overkill.
    I just think the CBF offers fantastic value for money.
